Ok, this is for the makers of the game. What is with the ammo pouches. A soldier using a Thompson doesn't have M1 Garand ammo pouches. for instance. look at these pictures.

??? Carbine pouches??? for a Tommy gun???

Cpl. Corrian from Hell's Highway,

M1 pouches for a Tommy gun?????

And Though I can't get pictures for these. In Earned in blood when Hartsock is Promoted to sergeant and Issued a Thompson He stull wheres a M1/Bar Cartridge belt. And Sergeant "Mac" Hassey wheres Carbine pouches though has a Tommy.

*gasp* I think I see a pattern here.

And some of the Carbine users have M1 belts.

The games are great and of course it has flaws. Nothing is truly perfect. It's just very Annoying to see.

It could be for the pistol rounds for the M1911 Colt. Each pouch can hold 2 box magazines.

The airborne in WW2 usually carried ammo for several weapons. For example, a rifleman would carry two cans of machine gun ammo.

Those look more like M1 carbine pouches. Although they can carry M1 clips they are made for carbine magazines. Here are some examples from my collection to illustrate this. USMC on the left and Army on the Right all from WWII.

It is often called the tommy gun, chill out frazer. You should know that, seeing as you're so knowledgeable.

dude frazer.....its called a tommy gun more often than any other designation, i doubt there was a single soldier back then who reffered to it as a Thompson M1 in a normal conversation.

exactly. just like the mp40 was called 'the Smeisner' (sp) while in fact, mr.Hugo Smeisner had nothing to do with the development of the weapon.

they called it 'the smeisner' becasue the creator of the mp-38 WAS Mister Hugo smeisner. One strange thing happend and everyone started calling the MP40 'the smeisner'.

To be honest,at a first glip of both weapon and you won't tell the differant. The MP-38 and MP-40 are similiar to each other with parts and some design. But they are two totaly differant weapons.

The M1/M1A1 thompson submachine guns will not accept drums, but the M1928A1 Baker recieved from Redwood can. In addition, many of the men armed with carbines (Dawson!) wear the 5-magazine pouches for the carbine, which is unrealistic and pointless, as carbine magazines would not fir there. In addition, no officer would wear the M1 cartridge belt (not too mention 3 small riggers ammo pouches with a lot more room than could a single cartridge belt).
