Im a bit confused about the size of Carentan. In Band of Brothers it seems to be a small city, when in Brothers in arms it's like a huge city. Can someone tell the reletive size of the actual Caretan during June 12, 1944.
Carentan was attacked from other sides. The Germans only put a company of men to defend carentan to the last man. And other regiments were attacking at the same time.
It had a railway station, cathedral and industrial complex. Carentan was huge, but like A_K said the Germans had one company inside the city.
June 8-15 1944 Carentan attack Realistically the whole battalion attacked with 4 companies...(See sample). Most the German had been withdrawn prior to the allied assault. The Germans attacked Hill30 to recapture Carentan but were unsuccessful.
