It was one of the unfortunate side affects of Band of Brothers that these men were subsequently deluged by letters and autograph requests, many from people who only had an interest in making a buck off signed merchandise.
i WOuld also like to suggest the Book Currahee! by Donald R Burgett, Met the man on Monday 15 May 2006 at the New Museum at DEad Mans Corner as featured in BiA. Very interesting and a good finale to a week spent expolring the D-Day invasion beaches and landing zones, something i think everybody should do once in a while.Another book to try would be Sainte-Mere-Eglise (hotographs of D-Day) by Michel De Trez.
Also the book Parachute Infantry, which was written by Webster after he got back, and obviously before he died in the boat accident. Goes very in-depth into day to day life of a soldier, and how ****ty everything was most of the time. And explains why he didn't go AWOL to get back to the unit before they set out for the Bulge. He seems to leave out the very negative feelings that were shown towards him from skipping the battle though.
