standard m-1 garand cartridge belts hold 10 clips, 1 in each pocket and 5 on each side. riggers could *** extra pockets to them to make them hold more, and special rigger pocuhes were made to hold more clips or grenades, private ryan wore about 5 of these in SPR. also bandoliers could hold 6 clips each.
hope this helps

You are right!
I got 2 of them in my collection.
I think 50% of the US WWII para`s had rigger-made pouches. Theye are not used in BIA...
The M1A1 carbine shooters have a belt that`s full of carbine ammo pouches. Real paratroopers carried only one of those, when they had a carbine. Most of `em also wore Riggerpouches.
Another equipment mistake of BIA: Musette bag`s shovel attachement holes. They were only used in 1945. Musette bags issued before 1945 had no E-tool attachement holes. I got a bandoleer in my collection wich is covered with a layer of gass-detection-paint that turns pink as dangerous gasses come close to it.
Sorry for poor English. I`m Dutch.
