I read a lot of Ambrose, Bradley, and a few others in-between. I already know about the K.A.Jabar book with the BiA name. I'm looking specifically for a book on the Tuskagee Airmen. I'm hoping for one that reads more like Ambrose and less like a highschool history book, but if anyone knows of any really good books on these guys, post it up. I'm going to be finishing the books I'm on here in the next few weeks, so would like to jump on a chance to order these now rather than when I'm done with these others.
Now, can you go back to google, ask it which reads more like a history book and which reads more like an Ambrose book?
Thought so.
I posted in the "Historical" forum because I was hoping for someone that actually has a deeper involvement than video games into WWII and might have some input as to which books read better than others.
For instance, if you want to know of a good book on the Pacific war then I would suggest Flags of Our Fathers because it is insightful and provides the reader with a look through the eyes of the men who raised the flag at Iwo Jima. It does not read like a history book and actually feels more like reading a movie script. It is to the point and detailed where it needs to be, it gives you a sense of the emotion involved in the fighting, and it draws you into the story.
Google can't tell me that. I want to know if there is a book on the Tuskegee Airmen that will draw me in and make me want to read on. I am not looking for a simple title. Thanks for the suggestion, but it won't help me find what I am looking for.
