I have been fascinated in World War Two movies, books, and series all through out my life. I was inspired by my grand father, he was one of four to survive in his company in WWII. He was an engineer and was promoted to Sergeant. My other grand father flew a B17 Bomber all across Europe, over France, Italy, Africa, Germany, Austria, and many other countries. Ever since I learned so much about them, I have gotten into finding out information about WWII, and watch exciting adventures.

Post your Favorite Movies, Books, and Series below! I'll start off by introducing some of my favorites!

Band of Brothers: A HBO Series Directed By Tom Franks and David Frankal

Saving Private Ryan: A Movie Directed By Stevin Speilberg With Tom Hanks.

If You Survive: From Normandy to the Battle of the Buldge to the end of WWII. An americans true story.

Foot Soldier: A Combat Infantry Man's War in Europe.

Post Yours!

Also, I hope to see many of you in game, I will be playing this on my xBox 360. My user name is my gamertag, can't wait to play it!! Check out my personal signature for the community, like it?

Ah, there's just too many to name.

Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, Das Boot, Stalingrad, Empire of the Sun (not sure if that's the name), The Thin Red Line.. I feel like I'm missing a few but those are the ones I can name off the top of my head.

On the back cover of BBC's "The Battle of the Atlantic" DVD:

"Battles might be won or lost, but our power to fight, to keep ourselves alive rested on the outcome of the struggle for control of the Atlantic." Winston Churchill

The Battle of the Atlantic was a fight for Britain's very survival. From 1939 until 1942, Hitler's submarines - his "Grey Wolves" - threatened to starve Britain into submission by preventing ships from carrying food, raw materials, troops and their equipment from North America.
By 1942, just a handful of U-boats had brought Britain to the brink of defeat - over 30,000 merchant seamen had lost their lives. Only the capture of an Enigma machine and the invention of radar could spur a fightback. As the tables turned in the struggle for control of the Altantic's "sal****er highways" over 85% of U-boat crews would lose their lives.
Through eye-witness accounts, dramatic reconstructions and a wealth of archive material, the compelling story unfolds of the longest, and one of the most bitterly fought campaigns of World War II.

Content: 1 The Grey Wolves 2 Keeping Secrets 3 The Hunted

Feature Running Time: 145 mins approx

This is one of my favourite. Many thanks.

"Life is full of illness. Disease is illness. Family dispute is illness. Social unrest is illness." Master Cheng Yen

I have read a couple of realy interesting books.

The Forgotten Soldier: By Guy Sajer.

A Frenchman, who tells the story of how he was forced into fighting for the Germans in 1942. He starts out as a truckdrivers offsider and after experiencing some of the most unbelievable twists of fate, ends up in an Elite SS Division. Not by being a hero, just by dumb luck.

The other book is another self written story by the only German U-Boat commander that survived the whole war as a U-Boat Commander. When I remember who it was written by, i'll post it here.

I have read many other books, but none stood out like these two.

I have watched so many WWII movies that I have forgotten most of them. A few that stand out are; The Dam Busters, A Bridge Too Far, The Longest Day, Bridge over the river Quai, Tora Tora Tora, The Battle of Midway, Sands of Iwojima, The Eagle has Landed, The Battle of Brittain, Enola Gay, and of course who could ever forget Hogans Heros and Kelly's Heros.

May my Phatt be with you!

Flags of our Fathers in an outstanding movie. It not only shows the horrors of war but it shows what it does to soldiers at home when they are recognized as heroes.
