Just to add to the thread,
The 17th airborne were a very late-coming paratrooper div. They were training through D-day and market garden and made their appearance in Ardennes. Very short service timefor ww2, '44-'45.

the Ardennes is in Bastogne, I was just pointing it out. I wasn't saying anything relating to how hard they fought.
