It can be done. You pull back action and hold with right hand while gun is pointing to the left.
Put your left hand over breech/magazine and with left thumb hit the magazine release..it comes out...just not as fast as in game.
It is true and accurate.

Yea I own a Garand..and it can be done...but I dont think they would waste there time in a battle to do that.

Guess I'll post this here also. From Don Burgett WWII 101 vet on Mark Bando's website: I nearly always counted my shots mentally and never paid attention to a ping. In heavy fighting and if you have a few slack seconds and you had counted your shots and you know you are down to maybe two rounds left in the rifle, eject those two rounds and put in a fresh clip of eight rounds. It may save your life when in a couple of more seconds the fire fight gets heavy again.
