Like I said, I know this has been posted before, but I've tried everything that's been suggested, but nothing works for me. The most common suggestion seems to be to delete certain folders due to corrupt Installshield or something, well, I've gone as far as formatting my HD and reinstalling XP, and the first thing I installed (or tried to for that matter) was GRAW2, it still gave me the same problem. and yes, i have recieved a new DVD after returning the first one.

Error as follows:
Error Code: -5006 : 0x8000ffff
Error Information:
>SetupNew\SetupDLL.cpp (841)
PAPP:Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter® 2
PVENDOR:UBISOFT (http://www.UBISOFT.com)

My hardware setup:
CPU: Intel Core2Duo E6700
MB: Intel Westchester G965
RAM: 2GB DDR2-800 (not sure what make, sorry)
GPU: Legend GeForce 7600GT
HD: Western Digital SATA-300 16MB 250GB
DVD: Benq DVD/CD Writer combo
OS: XP Service Pack 2

If anyone has any ideas other than already suggested, please feel free to reply.

Thanks and regards
Mav

wow a tough one, have you tried a diff say a new cd/dvd ?? and also a differant install directory?... if you don't have new cd/dvd rom you can maby get a firmware update for the one you have, and when you reinstalled XP did you format the drive or let it install over old? I see you said you formatted but had to ask anywaySmile The cd/dvd ver of the game seems to be picky about the drive (rom) used to install and it is probly something to do with copy protection **** that UBI uses expecialy if it is that worthless Starforce, there is one other thing i almost forgot, when you reinstalled XP did you update it befor installing the game??? I had one of my other games stop running because of a microsoft security update I had installed and soon as I took out the update the game ran fine,ya might have to do some searching at microsoft for it I don't remember which it was, sorry Hope this helps
