The volume for voices is coupled in with the SFX bar under audio properties (it seems).

Yet the voices are way too loud, so I am forced to turn down my volume and I cannot hear the gunshots, ambient, etc very well.

Is there any way to lower the volume for voices?

nevermind, set it to Software instead of Hardware and everything is well.
