I am having a technical problem with the patched version of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (the first one) for the PC. The "Select Frag Grenade" key doesn't work - I have it bound to the number 3, but nothing happens when I press 3, even though I have frags in my inventory.

The technical "support" staff claim this is "not a glitch, bug, or any other type of problem with the game", which is clearly a load of crap. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Anyone know a solution?

Why don't you do it like this: press F and hold it down, scroll with your scrollwheel to the weapon of choice (the grenade), and let go of F.
That's normal procedure and faster than selecting weapons with 1,2,3 etc.

I don't like doing it that way. And there's no way that's faster, you have to hold down the button and scroll to the correct position with the mouse wheel instead of just pressing one button.

It is faster and your method does not work.

It is physically impossible for it to be faster. Think about it this way: What if I bound grenades to the F key and you used the F key for the weapons menu? We both press F at the same time and I'm already done. You still have to scroll and then let go of F, I'm a step ahead of you.

It's supposed to work, or it wouldn't be in the menu.

Hi. Let's end that discussion. For me, f and scroll works. For you, the numbers work better and faster.

I do not have graw(1) on my desktop anymore.
I did go into graw2 to see if binding keys gave problems but it did not. I was able to bind 3 to the frag grenade..(etc.)

Can't you bind the weapons to F1, F2 etc.?
As I said, I de-installed graw so I don't know if you need those for other functions...?

Because I don't have a clue, here some remarks that are probably a bit dumb:
-numlock on/off any effect?
-an extra 'save'-button on the screen after remapping keys?
-you're now running latest version 1.35?
-you did bind nr.3 to 'select frag grenade', right? because if it is 'select backpack' then that may not work.

You don't have to answer me all this !
