Hello, I have bought a new Acer Aspire 5520 with Vista and I can't play G.R.A.W. on it. I have all system requirements and I even exceed the recomended requirements but the game just will not work. As I install the game everything is fine untill it reaches the point at which it is supposed to install the DirectX 9.0c update but it just seems to skip this step but a message pops up that says successfully installed. When I then open up the game and click 'new campaign' it loads but then a message comes up that says:

Crash in application version: grpcrc1.02

Direct3D - Unknown capability violation exception.

SCRIPT STACK

data\lib\managers\viewportmanager.dsf(0)
data\lib\setups\setup.dsf(0)
data\levels\mission01\mission01.dsf(0)

Can you guys pleasse help me out here as to why my game does not work and how to get it to work.

The game Dawn of War - Dark Crusade also does not work because of a 'spooge drive error'. I think that if I can solve this problem then I will also have solved the DOW problem.

spooge drive error? does that mean you run simulated drives on your harddrive (to run games without buying them.....?)
that could cause a problem. But what you suggest about GRAW does more sound like hardware-incompatibillity to me, (budget graphic card? lack of memory 2gig recommended by me....., vista uses a lot of memory) you could also try updating graphic drivers and sound drivers that might fix your issue too.
But if not please give more details about your system an we will see.....
