At last I got to finish this movie:

Thanks a lot to Russell Boyd (Joe 90) who helped me with video aspects and Michael Lockhart (310th Falcon) with sound effects.

In this movie you will see the integration of IL2 and COD game engines by means of screening/overlaying as well as real human appearance made possible with the blue screening method.

Blip-tv stream viewer (not the best resolution but much better than You-Tube, thanks Russell for tip):

High resolution download on avi format with divx codec:

Excellent work, biltongbru.

It was great to see this all wrapped up into the final movie.

You've put a LOT of effort into this to combine the 2 game engines as well as adding humans and it has really paid off.

Well done on completing a very good piece of work Thumbs Up

Great movie and very well put together. Love the visuals on the dark deep shadows and colour (or lack of).

Excellent job.

Wow! A truly superb movie...Exceptionally Artistic in both sound and visual modes, with superb technical achievements in Special FX. Stuka Engine sounds stand out as unusually realistic, and the incorporation of "live" human characters is clearly a remarkable, nearly unprecedented, feature.

While it is always difficult to compare apples to oranges, I must say that this is definitely one of the Best movies ever produced using the IL2 Flight Sim game engine....Masterful merging with Call of Duty to present hugely superior ground scenes/objects...

It is really thrilling to see such a creative movie appearing on the scene so late in the life of the IL2 Series and in the continuing evolution of the IL2 movie-making niche.

I'd say that with this movie following your "Inside the Whirlwind" that you have stepped into the very front rank of IL2 Movie-Makers!!! No more mere newbie Silver Oleg's for you, my friend...

Well Done!! 5 out of 5 Stars from me and a Big Salute!

[Standby for more to come.... Wink]

Nice! Very hard to get a 'style' when so many have tried before so coming up with your own is great to see. Often blue (or green) screening a character immediately looks comical but you've managed to fit it nicely with your cello mooded film. Fantastic!

This cutting-edge movie has just been added to the Best of the Best IL2 movies indexed at the "Flight Sim Movies" website, and it is now the featured selection for 2008.

It has been especially recognized with the award of the Golden Oleg for outstanding artistic achievement, along with superb technical achievement in special effects.

I've just got around to watching this, I'm amazed bow, wonder who's going to be the first person to do a simulated parachute descent Wink2 The thing is apart from the human element I liked the other aspects even more.
The airfield sequence with startup(best sound ever)and take offs is fantastic, and the ground attack truly impressive particularly the couple of integrated shots of the train yard which looked even better than the tanks, also the flak guns and matched to the ariel action.

Biltong (or is it mr Oleg Big Grin) I've got a couple of questions, in COD I can see how you most of those shots from first person ground troop view but how did you get to look down from above? this game does'nt have an editor or freecam right?
What do you use to get your washed out visual effect, you have vegas I think? is it simply darkening and adding glow or some special after effects package.

Hi Wolf

Thanks for your kind comments bow; yes it was your mistake to introduce me to this forum Angry Blue Guy; now my free time is mostly occupied by this Hammer (lol)

I am sure you have seen this vid, brilliant, with parachute decent, (pilot somewhat aged though... and a bit cheesy according to Joe...} But still excellent effects.

In COD 1 and 2 You go in multiplayer and use the spectator pan to move around and do the frapping.

Yes you are correct: use contrast, brightness and glow, play radically around with these until it looks ok.

keep well

Thanks Biltong, I can never figure out all that glow contrast stuff I'll have to experiment more.
Yes, it was me who posted the captain quinn clip last year in a thread about human pilots,I was wondering when you were going to attempt the bail out sequence Big Grin I know the cheese-o-meter goes off the scale but when you realise he's actually made it for his wife and kid rather than a WWII movie it's quite touching..... in a cheesey kind of way Big Grin
I think he's great anyway, he's out there pushing the envelope with his balls in wind, I take my hat off to the guy.

Nice work, Biltongbru. This is the best integration of live-action and IL-2 video I've seen yet. A little bit of color correcting would make it even better, but this is much better than the previous efforts I've seen. If I'm not mistaken, that's Joe90 in the Stuka. Wink
