Okay here is my second tutorial on audio effects using Sony's Vegas Pro.
1. Audio FX 2. FX Automation 3. Surround Sound 5.1 4. Audio Recording in Vegas Audio tutorial using Vegas Pro The Vegas Pro collection includes a powerful set of audio tools for the most demanding productions. Mix audio in a multi-track environment on an unlimited number of tracks. Use on-the-fly punch-in recording, real-time record meters, 32 assignable effects, 26 Master and Aux outputs; perform automatic crossfades and take advantage of hands-on mixing using external control surfaces and envelope automation recording. I hope this tutorial is informative and is helpful to you. Best Regards This message has been edited. Last edited by: 310th Falcon, |

Hi Falcon
Very very good; thanks, looking forward to the next one! I have Vegas 8 platinum, I dont think it has all the features of Pro? If one wants to edit the sound on a specific video clip it says: open audio editor? I have specified audacity for the audio editor but it does'nt work! What audio editor do they mean? Now I use the non-real time event Fx for a specific clip and there you have a host of plug-ins but it creates a new take of the sound clip. Is this the right way? |

Hello biltongbru Thank you for your comments. 1. You have "Vegas Movie Studio Platinum"? some of the features are similar. Vegas Pro does indeed has a few more features: Vegas Family Comparison 2. In Vegas Pro there is a feature called "audio trimmer", but it doesn't have many options or features, so for myself I use Sony's Sound Forge 8 for most of my sound editing. I don't know what Movie Studio 8 has. Audacity LAME MP3 encoder is very good audio editor...and it free!! Not sure if I understand your question completely? I would extract the audio portion from the video clip right into your favorite audio editor and make any audio effects adjustments needed, then click "save as" and re-name it. Bring it back into my audio timeline and make any small adjustment needed to get it in sync with the video clip. 3. Correct! You could overwrite the original but I wouldn't. Just name it as an example..."30mm gunclip-revised" or something like that. Hello Monty-Dan Good to hear from you again. Missed seeing you around the forum here. I know you are the Adobe Premiere guy, but I'm looking forward to any comments you have about my latest tutorial. Joe-90 ....also looking forward to your review. These first two tutorials are only about the different features and basic options available in Vegas Pro. Tutorial #3 will be also about audio techniques in Vegas, but more on what we do in our films. Adding video clips into our timeline and then adding SFX, like real engines, gunnery, and other ambiences that are available to us. Best Regards |
