Some may have noticed that the voting stars on IL2MDB have been reset back to nothing.

Well, they have and with good reason. Some have noticed, including myself, that the ratings were always hitting around 3 with some hitting a few more; but not often.

The reason is that search engines and spambots have been hitting every link on the page and therefore scoring 5 votes totalling 15 points. Therefore 15 / 5 is 3 and thats the magic number.

I've implemented a new voting code to get away from this and to make voting a little more meaningful. Well as meaningful as subjectiveness can be . (I know I can hear those that don't believe in the stars groaning but it does serve as something).

Sorry to all those that have voted before. If you are passing and wish to vote then fingers crossed your favourite will hit the top 20 list. (This list is quite different and I'm working on the layout.

I was not all that dissatisfied with my 3 stars

I'm sure most were puzzled as they were all getting the same rating.

I've tweaked again and if you feel the need you can rate the movies from the main list. That means you can rate the movies of a single producer by listings just those and then voting on each movie listed.

This is a slight bump.

I have also added a new feature to the database list.

You can now sort the order of the database via date. This extends to using the Tagcloud or Categories. So you could sort a list of "Action" movies in ascending or descending order of entry in the database.

This may come in handy when using the voting stars.. You just never know.

How would most feel if I had two methods. The long winded one as is now and a quick give me your name and email along with a website URL (You Tube, FileFront) etc and I'll do the rest?

Monty, yes the voting is working the same way as IL2MDB did. I'll grab some time later and convert you over. I'll PM you on the current vote standings and see if there is a work around on getting the right balanced entrys
