Well, after your investigation of blip I closley watched the playback and realized, at 15 fps, the transitions were hideous, and vimeo seems to be no better. At least Youtube is crisp despite the giant blurry thumbnail with the arrow in it!

I am on the hunt for the best option and trying them all on my website.
