This is the second movie ive made and used and incorperated some tips i received from my first.
the movie lost some quality when i compressed files and added filters with Virtual dub not sure why.

But would appreciate your coments and advice.

Hi Batz.

Yep, an improvement on your last one.

It still looks very much like a replay of a game as opposed to a movie with a story.

8 mins is too long for such a simple premise - inbound fighter, scramble, dogfight, land.

Also, try and use more variety in your cameras - close ups, long shots, static cameras, etc. Too many shots were just too samey, if you know what I mean?

Use more shots per minute in action sequences - aim for at least 14 shots per minute.

Don't overdo the pans, and when you do use pans don't start or stop thm in a single shot.

The music wasn't to my personal taste, but I guess that's subjective. Did you choose the music to suit your audience, or to suit your own preferences?

Thanks for the advice its all a learning curv for me and any tips and advice i can pick up along the way is great and appreciated. where i struggle at the moment is getting away from the gamey feel to the movie and and make a more movie movie (if you know what i mean). Is there filters i can use to give it a better look or is it all down to how good your graphic settings are when you record the clip in the first place? I liked the gun camera footage i had most fun making that but not entirely happy with how it looks what filters would you recomend for that?

Never to be defeted i will make a new movie soon as im totaly addicted to the whole process.
Finaly there was a story to the movie in the the way that Green Eyed Gal leads the attack after leading many missions and then goes on to survive but only just but what i neglected to do was show you what she was doing half way though the movie maybe i should put some titles in about her in the middle of the movie somwhere.

I would try to avoid titles in the middle of the movie.The movie itself should be telling the story.

It's more to do with you cinematography than filters. Sure, filters can help, and there is a whole range in VirtualDub and some editing software like Vegas. You seem to have good enough quality in your game settings though hard to tell from youtube.

That's par for the course. The more serious you get the harder and longer it will take to get a few seconds.

Such a simple premise doesn't need 8 mins. If you need titles to explain such a basic story, then, I agree with Uther. Subtitles do have a role sometimnes but only for much more detailed stories.
