Hello everyone
For your quick viewing I loaded a short clip on You Tube of my movie where I used the Company of Heroes game to make explosions footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vB52NTI1neI The shake is a bit excessive but it is built in the game |

I really like the explosions. Never try Company of Heroes. Agree some of the shaking, they were off a bit but other then that very well done. Thanks for sharing Best Regards |

Hi again blitongbru.
This looks a lot better than your last one. The ground pounding is much more effective. I liked how you used more street level views from the ground as from the people. Maybe some atmospheric SFX like air raid siren, fire alarm bells, fire burning, maybe even screams if you cvan do that tastefully. A subtle improvement would be to be strict with directional continuity. I know I harp on about this all the time, but I really think a lot of movies in here could be that little bit better at focusing the viewer's attention if they can follow a line of action in such moving action sequences. In this case, try and keep the bombers always travelling screen L-R, or R-L. Then try and get at least the first bomb explosions going in the same direction as they came out of the bomb bay doors. Once all He11 is breaking loose, it is not so important, but at least try and get a good connection in directional continuity from the bombs dropping to the bombs hitting the ground. A decent establishing shot would have helped link the air sequence to the ground sequence as well i.e. a shot of the bombers from above from a distance, looking down to the ground and seeing the distant ground bursts. Some of the towns in the Slovakia map would be quite realistic (at least from 30000ft) to merge into COH at close up. Yep, camera shake in COH is naff. Why not mask it by adding a whole lot more with After Effects? |
