Here you go mate. It is still not finished as there are still several lines of dialogue yet to be added. But its finished enough to let you see it.

Not much, but its the best I can do with the artists drawings and goes to show that you can make a fair stab at making films with only moviestorm and crazytalk.

WARNING: Not aircraft related but as Joe said, there are wings Smile

90mB Download.

S! Really nice job there Ace even if there is some missing dialogue in the beginning.

Always wanted to purchase "CrazyTalk" but haven't pull the trigger yet on buying it.

Good song selection...looking forward to the finish product!

Impressive;

Is the software user friendly; how much time did you put in to make this movie?

Moviestorm is free for the core packs, it is pay if you want to add more stuff, but you get so much in the free it is certainly worth it.

I hate the way the user interface heavily depends on the mouse, it is so easy to latch onto the wrong thing, or so easy to not latch on at all. But once you get past that it is really easy to create full scenes. You could probably do an entire 30 second scene in 2 to 3 evenings.

User interface can be a pain in the backside and sometimes frustrating. But it is a good tool for creating completely non game engine footage.

I can say it would not be difficult to create pilots and ground crew for IL2 films using movie storm, greenscreening the finished characters into the IL2 footage. They even supply a ready made green screen that you can place anywhere on set to make it easy to do this. Wing walking on a static aircraft/refuelling duties/Tower scenes/briefing rooms, all could be done with little effort.

You can apply for a developers licence and create your own IL2 uniforms for this, they want people to add stuff on.

CrazyTalk I purchased at just over £100, the autodialogue is useless. You can (if you want rubbish results) simply play a piece of dialogue and the phonetics will be created for you.

As this looked terrible, I decided to create the phonetics for the mouth movements completely from scratch, building the mouth movements from the library catalogue.

Crazy talk user interface is excellent, it is very much a WYSIWYG interface, once you have the script right you can switch images in a few mouse clicks. You basically end up with three files, a project file, a model file and a script file, within the program you can make any model read any script in any project, this is very usefull as you build up a library of models and scripts.

The worst thing about crazytalk is not being able to cut and paste sections across projects, and you cannot move some diaogue across projects which means even though another scene a few of the same words you cannot copy them from the previous scene, you must create them from scratch again. Another frustraing thing is that any music imported automatically creates and overwrites your self made phonetics, so I never did this and used the background music track instead.

Another bad thing is it is really only useful for face on images, it does not animate side on at all.

I would say each image took about 3 to 4 full evenings to make. 1 evening for the facial lock points and 2 to 3 to make the mouth/head/expression movements.

All in all I would say this probably took 2 months to make. But as I have been working away for so long and I had a break in between it was started more like 8 months ago.

The butterfly was from particle illusion. Titling was done using boris graffiti.

Nicely done, BA. The software available for moviemakers just gets more and more powerful all the time. I assume this was a dry run for an upcoming IL-2 film... Wink

I really enjoyed this. Top-class Crazy Talk skills, and a really well-thought-out concept.

The thing that makes this piece stand out for me more than anything, though, is that it has a coherent story from beginning to end. I loved the final few shots in particular.

There were a few strange cuts towards the beginning, which I wasn't sure how to interpret, and I thought the opening few lines of dialogue were perhaps a little clunky. Those are minor criticisms of an excellent piece, though - well done! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next.

OK BA,

Were are the Spits, the BF's or the bombers, the explosions and scenes of air chaos, I could not see them anywhere Winky

Seriously, this is a very nice production, excellent ambience and feel; you are obviously getting to grips at a good level with various software programmes Cool

The only problem was that since we have actually met I could not match your voice with the image in the movie that your voice was coming from; he was far too good looking Big Grin Wink

Cheers

Joe.

I posted it at MovieStorms website.

Monty, All this messing around with new software is really getting me ready for my next Aircraft related film.

I do not want to do 'just another flying film', I want to do something that no one has ever seen or done before on this or any other forum for that matter (Since you already put a plane on the moon that is going to be some challenge).

So there you go, that is what this is all about.

Now, All I need is an Idea. Smile

OBTW: I would really recommend everyone to download and try moviestorm. It is getting better by the day, so many opportunities that can only be captured using either moviestorm or go the whole hog and do a full 3D Smax file. At first I thought (and in some ways I still do) it was a bit cumbersome. But a lot of the problems have been resolved and now it is getting much smoother. This is one of those places where your talents will be truly recognised.
