Extremely well done! I very much enjoyed watching that. Great, absolutely GREAT camera work. Do you have a a TrackIR or similar because your static cam movements were so natural, following the bombs, etc. ? Great sound, great music, good mix. Could have maybe liked a bit of post filtering work to give the overall colour tone a bit of 'emotion', but thats very minor. A great short, thanks for making it Smile .

TypingCheers guys , I will be deleating the current versions of NR later today and replacing them with the proper one(i have 3 finals and I uploaded the wrong one)you probably wont notice the difference but I do and its anoying the hell outa me.
MrVH you are correct about the filtering there isnt much in this movie though there is more than you think , this is for two reasons , firstly...I didnt want this film to have any kind of film damage as Ive done that one to death in the past and I didnt want it to have the bleached out SPRyan look either as Im tired of that as well , if anything I wanted more colour which brings me to reason two ,"RED" ive allways had problems with red in the finnishig of any movie as soon as you try and up the colour the red and only the red goes so bright its unacceptable , I have tried filtering out the red but it has such a dramatic effect on the rest of the film that what you see in NR is about as far as I dare go.
Anywho ... hope ive not bored you all to death with this useless info , Im glad your all enjoying it...Mucho cheers ,Jafa.

Nobody else makes the simple fly bye and formation shots look as real as you do, and the music fit the tone of the movie perfectly. Of what I have seen, I would not hesitate to say this is your best work to date.

Hello Jafa,

I am still impressed with your continuing level of cinematography and editing, that's what makes your movies so good on the eye, I also think your sound FX are the best so far in this short aerial "Dodge City".

I noticed the AA was set a little to low and did show up in some of the shots, and apart from not having a story that I could pick up on it was very enjoyable on the eye and ear.

One question for you, have you installed the entire mods pack for IL2?

Best Regards

Monty-Dan

S! Jafa

Great job Jafa.

Cinematography, editing and camera angles are top notch! The only thing that still out to me was the overall quality of the movie look a little fuzzy, are you dialing up some "AAA" your graphic settings?

Love to see you put together a nice story in your future ideas. Wink2
Regardless it was done very well!!

I see you use some Mods in this movie. I haven't install any of them yet.

where are you downloading them from and any tips you can give with installing each of them.

Best Regards

Jafa:

I enjoyed this movie, some comments:

Besides FH&C in my opinion the intercom voicing is of a great standard and pretty much unmatched in other IL2 movies.

The cinematography and realism of the ground attack (enhanced by the explosion mods) were outstanding in creation of the mayhem situation.

The music, sfx, and sound mixing were superb. With the music the correct mood was set for every situation to match the film imaging.

There was even a surprise element so much valued in films: when the one mossie suddenly got downed on their return.

The way how you handled the cockpit views got the viewer to pretty much feel part of the action; the looking around was well done.

Small crit if you dont mind, directional continuity in opening scenes ; the one lot ac's flew from right to left and just after that scene from left to right.
a Bit of a story to bring the viewer in perspective with the history on why or what is happening will also in my opinion enhance this film.

Overall a great movie! well done!
Smile

Monty & Falcon , glad you liked it , first of all im sorry about the quality of the film , dont really understand whats goin on there I did have a problem with quality when I was compressin Airshow and it was about that time that I switched from Xp to Vista and from analog to Dvi , in fact Vista has bin nothing but problems since I got it and its media player is "*******" useless , it may also be the high compression from two G's to 60 mb.....
I do use a lot of mods in my game but only ones I feel will make the finnished product more interesting such as Avala's planeshine , the new explosion effects ect , ect , and I have bin makin my own engine sound mods specifically to improve the feel of my movies , in fact it was the sound modding that got me started in creating movies from this game in the first place.
I am and have always bin a visual person I trained as a fine artist in the late 80's in london so when Im makin a film it must be first and formost visually interesting to the veiwer , its at this point I feel I must say that that I cant stand thoes F2 shots of aircraft in flight , I see that in a lot of movies by noobs and experianced guys like yourselves its very unrealistic and even when camera shake is added it still looks wrong , to me it just smells of lazyness in gettin the shot, its at that point I will turn any movie off.
As for story ,your right its not a strong point in any of my work , I dont feel the game offers enough to work with to validate the story for me , this for me mostly comes down to the lack of movin and realistic figures in game ,if it had thoes credable elements in game we would be talkin a whole new ball game.
Lastly , if you guys are going to run another competition I would like to be considered for a judge role as I have no intentions to make anymore movies from this game untill Sow comes out.

Ps , if you want to install mod s and you should..go over to AAA and they will sort you out , they now have a unified installer , this installs all the major mods in one go and and is safe for online play...Cheers , Jafa.
