I'm getting this, I'm looking but not finding a link for the older version of it.
Ok I found it from another site, Installed it, but now every time I try to make a movie the first 10 seconds or so gets choppy and hangs. But after that it, it works fine. With tat codec. Any Idea. If not I'll delete this post andput them out in a thread of there own. Before you ask I have nothing running in the back ground and I'm down to 28 processes runing. As far as me being a director of a movie, I'm not even close, nore do I have the knowlege to even try. But I've been asked to show some good DF from some of the guys I fly with, so I thought I'd Youtube them, since I have an account there, and I can show them to people I know that don't have the game. But if Huffy is the better codec, then I'd sure like to try it, so the vids I make and keep in my hardrive will look the best they can for my personal DVD collection. Oh if your slightly interested the link in my sig will get you there. My vids have no music, no text, just plain ole flying. In time I may try more, but this is all I'm after at the moment. |

I had a few problems with 2.2 though I couldn't swear it was HuffyUV's problem. it may have been a conflict with some other codecs. However, I uninstalled 2.2 and went back to 2.1.1 and had no problem.
TOAD, frapping dogfights is cool if all you want to do is show how you fly. It's much more user friendly than just posting a track up. You could make them a little more interesting by putting in some external views with the F6 lock so we can see easier what the e/a is doing. As for youtube quality, your videos are good enough quality for that medium. I see you also used a good enough standard to get the "High Quality" option. You wouln't want to upload huffyuv videos as the filesize is still huge, and is in fact larger than the source fraps files. Just stick to something like DivX or Xvid, or even WMV at a high enough bitrate. |

I did try both versions of Huffy, with no luck.
So I used xvid, so then I just kepp using it. It makes a 3.5 gig Fraps fall in around 200/300meg so it stores better, and still looks very good on my 20 inch monitor. As for the outside views. What I would really like is the opponants tracks, so I can mix up their views and mine. As you can see some of those fights last several minutes. I have one that is 22 minutes, Not only are you warn out after one of those, but trying to complile something of that size down for the Internet, and added more views, I'm at a loss on as of right now. Although one of them was so large Fraps broke it in half and I use WMM to put them together, and made a WMV the quality isn't as good, as XVid but it made it to the Tube. I guess I can make a 22 minute one, for the the Tube that way. Although I don't see that anyone would want to awatch a 22 minute fight with out some sort of music, or ather fancy addons to make it more interesting. Thaks for your reply. |
