Whoa!

I'm just back from the Awards Ceremony for the Online Machinima Film Festival held in Second Life and was delighted to pick up the Best Film award on behalf of Wingmen productions

I have some screenshots and also tried to frap some of the proceedings. I'll get these sorted and post up as soon as possible.

Well, quite an interesting experience attending an awards ceremony in Second Life. I had only signed up for the free trial to get in and was pretty noobish trying to get around – walking on peoples heads, and other embarrassing manoeuvres!

Faith, Hope and Charity picked up:
Best Film - Gold
Best Drama - Silver
Best First Film - Silver
Best Custom Content - Silver
Best Original Sound Design – Bronze

I tried to Frap some of the events, grab screenshots, all while being so surprised to have to keep going up to the podium. Thankfully, I had some speeches ready to cut and paste

LOL. The Second Life environment is hilarious. Looks like it was a lot of fun. Too bad I didn't have the rig and connection to be able to attend. You must have been quite the babe magnet at the bar, Joe, with "Best Film 2008" tattooed across your chest. Thanks for representing the gang so well, and thanks for the pics!

Thats pretty cool for sure, Congrats to all the folks involved.

Still enjoying the DVD, I use it as a tool to convince prospective players into the game, here locally.

Looking again at your movie and the hundreds upon hundreds of clips where everyone individually was produced and nursed to eventually form the finished product must have been a monumental task; Hopefully this achievement is some reward for all your hard and dedicated work!

Aye, I should have hung around the party a bit longer to show off my huge golden trophy.

I must say, the initial experince of Second Life with a free account lives up (down?) to all the rumours!

Aye, well, my SL avatar now possesses 5 lovely trophies that belong to Wingmen Productions. I'll hold them in good faith. I went to a quiet island and put them on display for a screenshot. This was a little scary when another second lifer came to see and then killed me, and the trophies were left sitting on the ground! Luckily, I found my way back and found them, whew. What a crazy place.

Today i readed magazine called 3D world in school.

There was big piece of Machinima.

Also there were 5 links to one of the best machinima movies and info about World Of Warcraft movies and about 5 words about Flight sim community .

Faith Hope and Charity was one of the best listed

Well it took the patient of a saint to wait for the actual movie, and it’s taken a long time to get it recognised, but as the saying goes “Good things come to those who wait”.

A well deserved 1st place for many reasons, some obvious (i.e. great production and team work ) and some not so obvious (like the behind closed door team antics at times ), but it all came together eventually.

A great result guys and it was a pleasure to be a part of this one off monster IL2 movie undertaking which will most probably never be repeated.
