The footage that can be used in our IL2 movies is typically the German 88mm AA gun firing demonstrated in the last 4 scenes of the movie.

I still get to capture footage of the 88’s firing upwards but that is easier said than done; I will have to get Allied aircraft to fly over the guns. Capturing from COH is much more difficult than in IL2 due to very limited camera angles if you want to avoid glowing game markers.

Other AA guns available : German 20mm “Flakvierling” and British 40 mm Oerlikon.

One should be very careful when you select footage from COH for IL2 movies as the modeling is not always perfect especially with the human figures.
