to the devs: what is stopping the player from using special moves throughout the game, like if I just used the shockwave all the time ruining the fun of the fights? Will you add an extra bar that if its empty you can't use special moves, or will it have a charge up time before youcan use it

I just got an idea for a mini-boss weapon, the kanabe. I believe it was mentioned on a different topic, but basically it is a big wooden block with spikes or studs covered on it. somebody might have suggested it before but Im not 100% sure

Man, listen what they say in the videos, look and you will see that you charge up the special-attacks...

hey listen no need to go all caps on me, the main part of my question was if they were going to add an energy bar that would refill over time. because for me the charge up time was a little fast.
EDIT: I looked at the video again and I did notice the charge time. I was too distracted by the awesomeness the first time I watched it This message has been edited. Last edited by: Blue_panda_123, |

s'all good. But I should have paid more attention to the video before asking a dumb question. are we cool?

hey Ubi, I noticed that the swordsman regains full health when he finishes a battle. Are their any ways to heal yourself in the middle of a battle, like a finite amount of health potions.

Well, you should have payed more attention again! Atleast, this is what I think; the health regains if you don't get hurt for a while so yeah, healing in a combat shouldn't be to hard with good blocking and dodging

this is where you're wrong, I have paid attention to this and the only time you regain health is directly after you beat a group of enemies. so if you are in the middle of a battle at low health you would want to use a healing item. |

To solve is issue for both of you fine gentlemen here is my answer. In RS1, when I was in a heated fire-fight, (which was all the time), When I just ducked for cover or hid out in some alcove, my health regenerated. My theory is if you can go 5-10 sec w/ no damage, your health will regain. Unless you are Miyamoto Musashi, there is no way in hell a player could take out a room full of Jackels, (or worse yet Ninja), w/ one health bar. On the higher difficulties, that may be a factor though

To add to my response, in most FPS, (Quantum of Solice, RS1, etc...) now a days, if the player can go without damage for a short time, health should regain. If it didn't, there would be a lot of P.O.ed gamers.

Guys, as much as you may love bashing "n00bs", he's right. For every battle you have one set health bar that only fills back up once the fight is over, from what we know now. This isn't only from observation, Mr. Vandenberghe himself said it at some point in a video somewhere. I just tried to find it, but to no avail. And, once more, we've started a discussion in the Q&A topic. Try to keep it elsewhere, guys... |

None of the videos that I've seen show's a person dodging long in enough to regain health. And the game is still in developement, so this could change. we just can't be sure. lets just agree to disagree

I guess we'll have to wait and see. Wuzzi, please feel free to jump in.

It's definitely been confirmed by Jason that your health bar automatically refills after each "stage" (or group of enemies). Like SMBX said, it was in one of the earlier videos.
To bluepanda: For the record, the shockwave is actually quite a weak attack and primarily used as a projectile/stunning attack (the latter when they get pushed against a wall). Hope that clears some things up. I do know where you're coming from though. The "lift" seems kind of overpowered to me (from some demos i've seen it take away 3/4 of the enemy health bar with subsequent hits leading to instant kills). Perhaps this will be addressed with the stronger enemies of the game since it's introduced later. That said, it's been showcased on jackals only for demonstrative purposes and probably won't be necessary early on in the game. I'm sure it'll become a necessity for the more difficult enemies. |
