Gotcha.

A buddy from over at the pub speaks Portugese, and works with
the 1st in Brazil.

Hence my confusion.

OK, poor excuse, but it's 01:30 here, and my brain quit
around midnight.

Cool logos!

Spokane, Washington, US of A! West Coast.

10 minutes before 2AM, and I just GOTTA sneak into Wake island's
harbor before going to bed.

I just GOTTA!

@vietvettwo: "knee deep navy"? We preferred the term puddle pirates or, The Coast Guard, that small nucleus which the navy revolves around in time of war. We actually carried a Jolly Roger on board and depending on the circumstances, the CO would order it hoisted below the national ensign. That man had a sense of humor.

One funny (sad) sub story I can relate happened on a training exercise in the Tongue of the Ocean with a Navy hunter/killer. After finding, tracking (term used loosely as the sub was running circles around us) and an hour of high speed (low 30's) ASW maneuvers we looked at the CCTV monitor on the bridge. Someone in CIC had put a sign in front of the camera which read 45+ktsWTF. Needless to say the exercise was over. I guess the navy had had enough. The sad fact is we would have been dead before we arrived had the scenario been real.

What a shame I don't know how to post pictures. But then again, I'm only a moddest Piper 28 flyer.

I love flying, but I'd get bored if I had to fly for a living.

jmmoric....

Welcome to the discussion!

Try photobucket.com.....I use this service, it is free. Upload instructions there are simple.
After you upload you simply copy the URL address for that photo from your album and paste it in the photo button on top of your comment thread. But photos or no it is no big deal. Again......here is a pint on me.

Fkying is flying, it does not mater what kind of equipment you use...except helos...that`s called hovering... Winky

LANE...flying is the most natural thing in the world...and only the best get to do it..ex= Angels ex=Pilots see its just the same...now what is not natural is to drive a monster of 60 tons around the desert destroying the natural ecosystem...

(oh boy this is going to get interesting)

'Come here lil bunny!' Big Grin

It is the gun I'm telling ya.........
You have spent thousands of hours turning every nut and bolt (unlike zoomies, you got people), pulling it out of the mud (unlike zoomies, you got people), stretching a track in 0 degree weather (unlike zoomies, you got people), smashing your fingers with a 200 lb hatch cover (unlike zoomies, you got people), trying to paint the inside of the turret white with a government issued paint brush(unlike zoomies, you got people)............ and then you finally hear:
-Gunner!
-Heat!
-Track!
-Identified!
-Fire!
-On the way!
And the monster spits fire, the gun tube slams backwards, and the next thing you know you have this familiar urge to smoke a cigarette! Shady

Then you go back to turning every nut and bolt, stretching the tracks, fixing that bent skirt over the road wheels, and waiting for the retriever to pull you out of the muck.

It is the dirt under the fingernails thing. Big Grin

Ok, here's a reply from a former squid. Zoomies, Ground Pounders, Jarheads, and Puddle Jumpers all suck Razz Squids (Especially Submariners) rule all.

I was a former ET1(SS)nuc on the USS Pintado SSN-672. We spent a lot of time playing around with the various forces. The most fun (also the scariest) were the SEALs. The funniest were the Marines (who were issued rubber/plastic guns) that we did simulated harbor attacks with, those guys had a hard time dealing with the enclosed spaces and such. Airforce was always good for a free flight home, and the Army guys were good for a drink at the bar.

One thing I'll give you zoomies and squids is that when you decide to go after each other it gets real scary real quick....

If anyone has not seen this documentary you should.......When the Argentine airforce came over the horizon at Port Stanley and upon the British fleet. Scary stuff. Best modern air/sea battle footage I have seen.

You know one day all the joint cheifs got together, and they were bragging about their perspective branch's. Each claming their branch was more high speed then the other. So finally they had enough, and decided to put the proof in the pudding with some out of the ordinary actions

Army General says, "soldier, stop that tank!" Soldier says, "Yes sir!" runs over to stop the tank which promptly smacks him flat. Army General says, "Now thats a dedicated soldier!"

Navy Admiral says, "Oh ya, watch this. Sailor, catch that anchor!" Sailor says, "aye aye sir!", runs over to catch a destroyer anchor, and is promptly squashed flat and ends up on the bottom of the pier. Admiral says, "now thats a dedicated sailor!"

Marine General says, "yeah yeah whatever, Marine storm that beach!" Marine says, "yes sir!" runs up onto a beach, lobbing greneades, laying down and recieving massive ammounts of lead. The marine general then points to the hamburgerized remains and says, "now thats a dedicated marine".

Airforce general says, "yeah, i can top all of you guys, Hey, Airmen, see that out of control plane over there? I want you to catch it!". Airmen looks at the general with a puzzled look and then says, "Screw you sir, your crazy!" Airforce general then looks up and says, "Now thats a smart airman!"

Wish I could stay and play fellas but it is 'Da-Chore-List' time and one thing this 'thread-head' knows for sure is who the heck the general is around here. Angel

Besides, without us ground-pounders you zoomies would have to land that thing to plant the flag! Veryhappy

(I'm outta here before that Hellfire lets loose!)
