I am just checking to see if I have this right. Before I install patch 1.4 I should go to JSGME and disable all my Mods, then install patch 1.4. After patch 1.4 is installed I should then go to JSGME and do a new Generate Snapshot of Game Files then install the Mods I want in JSGME.

You are correct Yooperbacker.

- Disable all mods
- Patch to v1.4
- Generate a new snapshot

Oh, if true, this is not good news!

I just installed 1.4 and did nothing with JSGME before doing so! You'd think someone (the 1.4 Readme, perhaps) would have forewarned us of the need to do the JSGME-disenabling of Mods.

We are not all Modding experts, and UBI should know that pretty much every person with SH4 has enabled signifiant Mods.

I am also assuming yooperbacker that the mods have to be 1.4 compatable (spelling) Confused

Don't you think maybe this guidance should be added to the initial Release announcement Post in this thread...or in the Readme??

Meanwhile, could someone tell me what I should do now that I have already installed 1.4 without having first disabled all the JSGME mods?

I doubt if I am going to be the only one to make this mistake...just the first, apparently...Frown

Even more to the point, ...if one is doing a complete re-install, do you still need to sequentially install the previous patches; ....or does V1.4 include the previous efforts?????

...A rather incomplete "READ ME" file; ....at least so I thought!

I would think patch v1.4 to be cumulative just as the previous ones. Mo need to apply earlier versions after a clean install...

The Readme file confirms it:
quote:
Please make sure that you are installing the right patch for your game version (US, EMEA, etc).
This patch can be applied on any Silent Hunter 4 version (1.0 to 1.3).
This patch will upgrade your version of Silent Hunter 4 to Silent Hunter 4 patch 1.3.

The last sentence should be read as "This patch will upgrade your version of Silent Hunter 4 to Silent Hunter 4 patch 1.4. "

Minoos;

OK! ...I only read the "Read Me" associated with with the announcement.

I haven't downloaded the patch package yet.

- Run a repair install of Silent Hunter 4
- Delete the JSJME hidden folders and both config files ( see the screenshot ).
- Patch once more SH4 to version 1,4.

Thanks for the guidance. Before I follow that procedure, though, I have a question: I made a complete copy of my SH4 Folder/files (on a different HD) before I installed the 1.4 patch. Could I just delete my 'new' SH4 (1.4 patched) folder/files entirely, then copy back over the back up SH4 folder/files....then simply do what I should have done in the first place: disenable all JSGME mods and then Re-install the patch?

Hmmmmm, anyone tried to use Trigger Maru 1.6.5 with patch 1.4 ?

I have lots of "Menu_id_not found" errors aswells as a complete game crash when going to the navigation chart. Sad Eyes

Looks like a 1.4 compatible update for Trigger Maru is necessary ?

Does anyone got the same problem ?
