I've been pretty new to this simulation, even though I have been at it for at least a year (on and off). i.e. Still working on automatic vs manual targeting and working on my approach to convoy, etc. on american subs. German subs are beyond me (esp with the torpedo data computer screen).
In learning all about tactics, etc. I seems that the original manual was done very poorly; perhaps the whole program was rather done in a hash. I am rather disappointed in it and would even pay for a supplemental book that this site posts address. Is this a common sentiment out there? Any way for yall to make a book on the stickies that are on this thread to help with sanity? |

It is common to the point that I recall a thread in which people had discovered actual uses for their manuals. Many found the manuals do well at stabilizing wobbly chairs and tables. I turned mine in to fire starters.  "Some ships are designed to sink… others require our assistance." Mine ended up as a sponge when I spilled a bucket of water. I think it was slightly more usefull that way..lol

I'll put up with none of that hogwash about the "lousy manual!" After I ran mine through a paper shredder it made passable kitty litter. The staples ruined the shredder though. I'll be billing Ubi for the damage.

I think we printed it off and stabled it together to make a book

OK, I'll be the oddball of the group. I did find the manual useful for learning basic functions. When it came to actually learning the game, I had to rely on the guides members on this site made. They were very helpful.

To be shat on by a cat...that is the ultimate insult. Oh, those past days when the manuals were 200 page books. Seems they like to have two manuals these days..they give you a base one, then the one that has all the info is sold at high dollar as a hint book of sorts  June, '09, July, '09 |
