I am playing SH4 TMOwTw (American side) and have run into something I haven't had happen before.

The year is 1944, end of February, first part of March. I started my patrol out of Fremantle was told to get photo of Surabaya, did that. Then told to patrol area around Borneo. On the way there sunk a small convoy. Then near Borneo sunk a small convoy there to. I then went up to the refit at the port near the Celebes Sea. After refitting was told to engage and destroy enemy anywhere I wanted to, so I went into the Celebes Sea and cruised the shipping lanes. Saw a single merchant ship, sunk it by using torpedoes. After ship was sunk I did not get credit for it. No sunk mark on map or any sunk record in ships log or on message box. I thought I would just let that go, maybe something weird happened and that is why I did not get credit for it. Sailed around some more sunk two more ships using torpedoes, again not sunk ship mark or record of it. I then ran across another ship and sunk it using my deck gun to see if that would make a difference. No sunk icon on map or any record. I know all these ships were sunk. I watched them. I have the game saved at this point.

Has anyone seen this happen before?

This has happened to me before. The only times it happened to me was when I saved the game while attacking a ship and then reloaded that save game. I'm not saying this is what caused the problem, just what I assumed caused the problem.

snakeyez,
After you sunk that ship and did not see the sunk ship icon, did you go on from there and sink more ships and still not see the sunk ship icon?

I may have saved the game just before shooting torpedoes at it and missed the ship then reloaded this save (can't remember) but I do this now and again. I just never remember not getting credit for the sinking and then keep going and sink more ships and not get any credit for them either.

I don't think I ever went any further. I just went back and loaded a saved game that was earlier than the previous messed up one. It was very irritating.

I quit saving the game when I had any contacts on the map and the issue never came back again. I don't know if that's the real culprit or not.
