Another stupid poll to liven this place up a bit.
For me, burnout is always one step away. |

You forgot one choice that says "I'm a dumb redneck and have no clue what that is!"
So...if you esplain I can maybe choose one of the provided options. "Some ships are designed to sink… others require our assistance." "We shall never forget that it was our submarines that held the lines against the enemy while our fleets replaced losses and repaired wounds." Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz, USN. |

I'm not sure what it's for either but, I think it has something to do with removing artifacts that appear where shades and/or backgrounds blend or overlap one another.

Well go to options, enabled it, go back to the game and look, then disabled it and take a look again. If the PFF is enabled, the game has a more real look to it, inside and outside.Disabled, it looks kind of cartoonish, takes away from the feel without. My rig can handle it but perhaps there are some that can't, so may disable them to speed the game up.Just a guess on that one.

Hmmm, I don't see anything that says PPF in my NVIDIA Control Panel. Maybe it's covered under a different setting or by another name. The game looks realistic and does not appear cartoonish so, something has to be covering it.
I always thought PPF was only used for the developement aspect of gaming. I have a 9600GT card w/512 MB of dedicated memory and the most recent drivers. I'm getting approximately 50fps on average. Everything looks copacetic. Post Script: Ah, OK, duh, I found it in the game's Graphic Options settings. It's already checked. This message has been edited. Uncheck it and play the game. You will notice the difference immediately. "Fire at Will!......... Which one is Will?" |

I'm supposing they gave this option in the first place for those with, hmmmm, how shall we say it? With less than stellar graphics cards? "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" -Matthew: 16:26 |

Well, right now i have the no grainy PPF in TMO. I was wondering if i should remove that, or leave it in. I typically don't use PPF, so it doesn't really matter to me.

No grainy effect please. My PC is packing, so to speak, and grainy is lame. Give me the highest graphical definition available. "Fire at Will!......... Which one is Will?" |

I didn't notice any grainy effect either (when I disabled it) but, what a wierd color scheme when I did. "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" -Matthew: 16:26 |
