In the US, History channel is presenting a 10 hour miniseries starting the 15th. All color footage is used, much of it not seen before and all of it digitally restored. Jimbuna apprised me earlier that its already been shown on satellite in the UK and was excellent.
WW2 in HD linkage "Some ships are designed to sink… others require our assistance." "We shall never forget that it was our submarines that held the lines against the enemy while our fleets replaced losses and repaired wounds." Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz, USN. |

I've seen ads for this and it sounds like it's going to kick ***. While you're on the history channels webpage you might want to check out hero ships, they've got some nice stuff on the enterprise, lexington, BB new york and the DD laffey which is well worth the time to watch. Dissapointingly the nautilus describes the WW2 one, but is about the nuclear one.
I've also noticed some sales on battle 360 dvd sets lately...some mission ideas in there for sh4 Administrator of silenthunter.filefront.com Please submit mods, screenshots, and news, and link to our site, because..we're bored..and we have live ordinance.. |

Tomorrow (Tuesday), they'll be showing an episode called "Hunting for Japanese Subs", or something like that....Keep an eye open....

But will it measure up to the immortal Victory at Sea? No, but we'll take it!

I'm enjoying it so far. I don't think you missed anything about the silent service yet bubblehead, or I missed it too :P
Also I <3 Gary Sinese :P "The convoy lights are dead ahead The Merchantmen lay in their bed.... A cunning fox in the chickens lair, A hound of hell and the devil don't care" |

It certainly gave a different perspective. I think many people today would rather give up freedom than deal with the real face of war.
It's amazing what those men went through. June, '09, July, '09 |
