Mission Editor Walkthru v1.1

1- Creating a basic Single Player Mission.

For the next step you actualy need to create a folder in your "SingleMissions" folder. Go to the folder of Silent Hunter. In there you will see a folder named "Data". Open it and now you need to search for a folder called "SingleMissions". Once you have opend this folder. Right click your mouse button and a options menu will open. When you have opend this options menu select "New". You can now select what you want to create. We need a folder to save our game in so you select "Folder". Now you will see a new map icon appear. Since i want to name my game "Intersept Japanese Landing Forces" that's what i am going to call the new folder.

I'm glad you aprove of it, i've created this walkthru for the people who are having trouble getting their missions to launch or even create. Since the link on the sticky went down, i thought this might be helpfull to all those new to the game.

Hopefully this will be of some future help to all of those new to the game since i started making this "edditor walkthru" at 8 pm and it took me well past 5 am to get this posted. Wink2

Can't take credit for it thou, since i had to use several sites as reference for the saving part since that's where i found that i was goofin up... Blush

But none the less, let me aprove of my post as wel! Agree

This is excellent work Whisperer, you have clearly put a lot of effort and time into this, and I commend you for it and also for sharing it with the community here Thumbs Up

It makes me remember the missions I used to make for SH3, I really ought to have a go at doing some for SH4! Cool

Great job Whisperer!

Let me make two suggestions: whisper
1. Send a PM to VikingGrandad and ask that he add a link to this fine piece of work in the Mods, Tools, Tips thread.
2. Put a link to this post in your signature.

Really, great job!

I've added a link to this thread for you as dgrayson suggested Whisperer, seeing as I happen to be 'in' at the moment Thumbs Up

Should you need any help putting a link in your sig let a Moderator know as it can be a bit temperamental.

Go to your personal profile and paste the following line after your sig picture.

( In order for you to "see" it, I had to remove the opening [ add that to the line so that it starts [URL= instead of URL= )
URL=http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6421019045/m/1001027846?r=3571018846#3571018846]Mission Editor Walk Through

Ik gebruik de kracht. Vertel niet iedereen of ik zal het doden van Darth Vader u hebben.

Ik fooling u slechts.

Really it's quite simple.

The first characters tell the program what it is [URL=

The next are the address, I got that by going to your ME Walk through post, I left clicked on the address line at the top of the page and it went blue. Then I right clicked on it and selected copy. Then I pasted it after [URL=
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6421019045/m/1001027846?r=3571018846#3571018846

Then a ] to tell the program that it is the end of the address.

Then the name I want to appear, in this case Mission Editor Walk Through

Then a space and to indicate "That's all folks"

At the expense of appearing stupid, where can I find the editor this excellent post speaks of? I don't find it in a search.

Thanks,
Steve

You don't apprear to be stupid, you apprear to be uninformed. Big difference. Wink2

Let's take care of that right now.
It's in the root directory of the game.
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Sh4MissionEditor.exe

It might be a good idea to create a shortcut and put it on your desktop. whisper

Under what name did you create the mission. I've created an toher mission with the name "Fuel Run". When i have created the mission, i go to c:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\SingleMissions and than right click to open the options menu. Than select New and Map. You must now type in the same name as you did your mission, in this case Fuel Run Now close the window and go back to your Edditor. Once there go to File=>Save normal mission as.... You now have to browse to your SingleMissions map and type in the EXACT same name as you named the mission and the folder you've created, in my case Fuel Run. If you do this the right way, you sould have no problem finding your mission in the game. If you are still not sure about what you have done wrong i suggest you go back to the beginning and check each step in the process of making your own mission. If after that you still don't know what has gone wrong PM me and i'll trie to help you out.

As for now Gentelmen of the forum, i bid you farewell, i'm going to start a mission to find my bed since it's well past 3 am,... again...
