I want to but I am waiting for more info on how the game will be in 3D and also more info about the 3D "standard" for TVs in general before I replace my 47" 1080p set. :P I will probably be playing on the Xbox 360 or the PS3 as my video card is tired and old, 7800 gtx.

Im shur like every other game touting new tec, it will suck on a epic scale. Once the bugs are fixed it will be awsome-thats the part i am waiting for. Till then ill have to just keep watching the movie as it is s3d also. Plus, new 3d monitors seem abit slow to come to the market right now. 22 inches will have to get me by for now.

That's hardly optimistic, cravinmild...
What games are you talking about? Doom? Crysis? EndWar? Last time I checked, all those games innovated significantly in addition to being awesome. Of course, I'm probably biased because I have actually seen Avatar running in 3D and thought it was pretty rad. I just ordered a 22" Zalman Trimon 3D monitor on Amazon uk.
I might install Windows 7 on my macbook pro and play with iz3d drivers, or I'll probably play it on a pc I am going to buy soon If the consoles' version of the game will support the Zalman monitor, I will see what to do... |

Your right, i won't pooh on the parade. Avatar will be a fantastic launch and will be error free..........lol. Serious though, I am really excited about this game/movie. Im shur most of my issues will come from my sad, aging pc. Its nice to hear it runs well from a first hand source, which brings up a question or 10....How rad? something specific, heard here for the first time that we should be excited about. Or a link to the demo would do i guess. On a end note, james cameron has done some amazing things and this game is another on his list (brown nose for a signed copy..........sent early lol. Its an intersting thought, Directors making games.......what about authors? Say steven king wants to make s3d games based on his books (fallout 3 style-rpg/shooter) done to the STAND or THE DARK TOWER series. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST. |

Seriously... when are we finding out more about the 3D and hardware required? The longer we don't know what we need, the less likely the fans/consumers will be able to play in 3D.

IMO the min requirments will be the same as what is needed right now inorder to "play" not "view". This being a 200 series gpu, 1 gig ram, vista or 7, 3d ready screen.....sounds alot like my system, which gets choppy just viewing stuff let alone playing in 3d. For a awsome experance IMO you would need equipment that is not even on the market yet lol. I would think this game needs a 1000$+ PC to run at max.........what do u think?
PS 1000$+ pc is not a super expensive pc nowadays...more mid/upper level gamer pc, in case anyone thinks this is a outrageous expectation FOR S3D gaming |

I would imagine today's PCs could run the game fine assuming you have a video card that isn't way outdated like mine (7800gt). I don't really play PC games though so I was more curious about the required TVs for consoles to play in 3D, as well as what kind of glasses.

Well my wife just got me the nVidia 3D vision glasses for our 10 year anniv, so I guess I will be getting on PC. I am snagging a 21" CRT monitor for free to play it on (high refresh rate!) and I need a new video card.

Aww Chibi - you're giving up on the Xbox for Avatar? I've been posting about this for months now and I am still hopeful that we will get some idea of what Xboxes will need to play the game in Stereo.
Also, I'm spoiled by 52" of widescreen for my 50year old eyeballs - I just can't see downgrading to a desktop monitor for 3D. Please Ubisoft, let us know about Xbox Stereo as soon as you can. cheers -james |

Hehe, my 27 year old eyeballs are quite spoiled to a 1080p 47" LCD so the downgrade does SUCK! But, a 47" 60hz display simply wasn't ever intended to for 3D, so unless I want to have an epileptic seizure from epic flickering, then I'm going back to the 'ole tried and true CRT for this one. 1600x1200 @120hz is an upgrade in quality, but 21" is def a downgrade in size.
