I thought this was a Rainbow Six communcation fourm with Ubi

I just re-read this 138 page thread to see what you are talking about, and I don't see any communication from UBI.

Sure, Ms K drops in to keep the peace but she isn't able to provide any of the information we have asked for.

If we don't let UBI know what we like that other game companies provide, and they won't talk to us about R6, then what use are these forums anyway?

Good Point!!

Basically .. we have provided free support for Ubisoft customers while engaging in one way communication with our concerns for the Vegas series!

That's just it! "One-way communication" are the words here. So far my friends, I think that these forums here were created only to communicate within amongst ourselves... and I further believe that we have become "a game" in these forums to have the Ubisoft devs read and "laugh at us" to what "little minded ideas" we can come up with. After all, they not thinking of the consumers who buy their products which keep them in existence... They are only thinking of themselves.

LOL...they can't laugh at us because they don't even have enough pride in what they have done to come in here and defend it or their decisions.

The biggest laugh (and crying fit) is had by us who warned them not to take R6 in this completely non R6 direction which has resulted in less than 30 players worldwide at any one time.

I vote instead of making retarded online petitions that aren't going to do anything, people are chain calling ubisoft asking when a new rainbow six is coming out or something. **** them off by tying up their phone lines!

I'm not sure this is good news if Ubisoft still owns the franchise.

I also don't fully agree with Pachers comment in the link posted.

Quote:

Pachter also commented on Ubisoft’s first quarter results, saying that because of the slumping economy, Ubisoft’s casual focus hurt their bottom line.

“In our view, the casual games sector suffers more in a recession, as more casual consumers are able to live without the next Petz game, while hardcore games suffer less,” Pachter said.

That will change, in Pachter’s estimation, once the economy gets back on its feet.

“When the economy recovers, we similarly expect little impact on hardcore game sales, but expect disproportionate growth of casual game sales. It is not clear that the economy will recover by year-end, making Ubisoft’s guidance more realistic than its historical guidance.”

===================================================

He is likley accurate about hard core gamers being more loyal in buying GOOD games, but they also will rebel against the latest release of broken games that we have seen of late from Ubisoft .. Vegas 1 and 2, Far Cry, to name only 3 .. and also a few other developers like Codemasters with Dragon Rising. There are also many other games that have been released lately that have tried to change the genre, and have released broken, unfinished, and often, nearly unplayable games .. especially for online play.

From what I have seen, it is the casual gamer who buys whatever new game comes out, as they are mostly kids, and mom and dad will buy whatever they want to keep them quiet.
There are also many older casual gamers who will buy any new game that looks good, and will sacrifice other things to buy the latest and greatest.

I believe the hard core gamers are getting fed up with the poor quality and lack of solid content and will continue to refuse to buy these sub par games.

It has little to do with the economy .. and everything to do with quality and lack of support.
It also has much to do the developers not listening to the gaming community and just doing their own thing with what they think we want .. or maybe it's just whatever is easiest for them.

Since the fiasco with Vegas 1 and 2, I have purchased only 1 game .. that being COD WaW.
This game isn't fully realistic, but runs very well on most systems, has a dedicated server with excellent netcode, and can be setup for fairly realistic play.
It has also had good communication which resulted in several patches, the last being 1.2 GB, and Treyarch/Activision has provided considerable new content and several new maps.
(Now 23 very nice standard maps in multiplayer)
It is a great game while waiting for something better to arrive.

I now will only purchase a game if a company releases a beta for testing purposes and feedback, or at least a demo before release so I can test gameplay and especially netcode online.

Sorry for the long post, but I believe Ubisoft and others are losing business, not because of the economy and casual gamers, but because they have abandoned the gaming community and are trying to sell broken unfinished games to get a quick sale.

That might work short term, but the results are now coming back to bite Ubisoft and other devs. right in the hindsight, just as many of us here pridicted!!

I am very blessed that I am financially able to buy any game I choose, but I refuse the buy the broken unfinished garbage that we have seen lately.

Just my opinion, but I do know many here agree with me.
And, or course, there will be some who don't.

Well I am a lot like Lethal in the fact that there is always money for games. Problem is I keep buying crappy games. Purchased Dragon Rising that you have to be a Rocket Scientist to play, and shoot at enemys that are so far away they look like ants. Then I figured how could I go wrong with MW2 from Activision. When starting the game I was amazed at the graphics. Didn't take long to loose all interest after I couldn't even shoot around a corner. How lame in design is that?

So even with all it's faults I will stick right here in Vegas. Funny I don't even get annoyed any longer when there is a server crash. Just learned to put up with the crap I guess. As for lag on the servers just lead your target...lol.

In conclusion my opinion is that it is not just UBI putting crap on the market, but all the gaming software companies. I am getting tired of waisting money on the crap being put on the market these days so I guess it will be a while before I buy a new tital regardless of the developers. They all seem to be in compitition now about who can put out the worst product.

Agree or not "IT IS WHAT IT IS"

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Hey Stryker,
It seems there just aren't any real good games being released at present.

When Codemasters cancelled the demo for Dragon Rising, that threw up a big red flag for me.
Early hype on the game sounded like it was just what we wanted, but Codemasters changed everything, so no sale from me.

COD Modern Warfare 2 is another one I was watching.
But again, gamer reviews show that there is no dedicated server, and it appears you have to logion to Steam to play.
I hate Steam!
And, also from what I have read, you can't even join friends in multiplayer because you are joined with players the game decides for you.

As I have mentioned in the past.
Buy COD World At War and Demented and I will join you and walk you through the campaign in co-op.
The game adds extra Ai for each player that joins so it helps keep the game balanced.
We have several other gamers and I know I can get one more to fill the first slot if you like.

We password our games and I also rent a Teamspeak server, also passworded, that you are welcome to join us on so we can work out strategy.

You have already wasted $100 on the 2 games you listed above, and you can buy this one for $29.90.

And I guarantee WaW is much more playable that anything you have now .. including Vegas 2.

The single player campaign is also a lot of fun to play by yourself .. just more fun with friends.

Hell I agree with everything you said Lethal.Too bad they dont care enough to listen. How long has it been now since a game or community developer has even been in here? Too long.
