As long as they don't put it in the hands of UBI Montreal it may have a chance. UBI Montreal has specifically failed on the multiplayer parts of every game they get their hands on. Vegas, Vegas 2, and Farcry 2 are the multiplayer failures currently under thier belt.

They couldn't even test the third Vegas 2 patch before releasing it...unforgiveable.

Don't forget Letdown. Ubi Montreal made that too. Blink

RSE made the PS2 version with the port for PC, but Ubi Montreal made the XBox version and shipped assets to RSE. Since Ubi bought RSE, Ubi Montreal has been the lead on all R6 games since Black Thorn for Rogue Spear. RSE concetrates on GR (for consoles only mind you) and only on the MP part of it though they did to the Americas Army version for the XBox/360.

Yeah, I wouldn't plan on seeing any either, several months ago they said they would be no new content or updates for the game and therefore they gave up on the game...

They're probably at least half way through the next R6 and Ghost Recons anyway...

I don’t think anyone said a hardcore mode couldn’t be included, in fact by adding High Stakes they confirmed it can. Agreed it was after release but the effort to bring it out does demonstrate an understanding that more challenging style of game play is required and has a demand and supports the idea that future games would see this taken into account pre launch.

i really hope so. i dont know how the devs see the "success" (or lack therof) of High Stakes mode.

the reason why i feel HS failed in Vegas 2 is because it was poorly implemented (and of course well after initial game launch).

i hope they continue with the idea of HS mode and i hope that they develop it further, rather than it just an afterthought.

in COD4 and COD:WAW the hardcore modes are pretty well thought out (not perfect by any means, but compared to the standard game modes), and both of those games have a huge hardcore-mode following.

Hmm, actually they should forget about a High Stakes or Hardcore mode and make the game already like this.
Then they should add an easier mode and call it the n00b mode...

So, Ms K, I have a question for the UBI folks.

Will UBI wait until the majority of game code is complete (again) before announcing any details of a future R6 game in order to avoid having any discussions in these forums or taking any input from the community?

It just appears like the last few games have gone in directions UBI thought were great and we would love and they were incorrect. They thought things like 3rd person view would be a happy surprise and instead alienated almost all fans of the R6 series, but by the time we could raise our fears and objections, the coding was already done and release date set.

Just wondering...since that is exactly what this thread is about.

I can understand if you are under orders not to confirm that UBI is working on the next R6 game, but can you tell us if UBI isn't currently working on the next R6 game? Smile

One more thing Ms K, I noticed you locked the thread reguarding the news rumors about the future R6 and Ghost Recon mentioning that it was a duplicate thread:

http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...1021386/m/8051037127

What threads are discussing this?

If you mean this thread, then I don't see why their shouldn't also be a thread with an appropriate title about the news announcments. People aren't going to wade through 103 pages of text to find a tidbit of info about future game news or rumors.

Please give me some links to where these future game rumors are being discussed. If those threads are in the Console forums, then they would need a link in the PC forums as well.

Thank you

If we go by the history of this thread, we should be in luck and get the answer a few days before they start doing their marketing bombardment on these two games.

All I want before hand is a video by LP letting us know what is the correct way to play the game, last thing I need is make the same mistake I made with FC2 and play it the wrong way! Wink2

Far Cry 2 was bad... Angry Blue Guy

Complete waste of money for me...nevermind I was half way through the single player, got an x box elite and recovered my gamertag and everything else transferred except my saved game from FC2...

You should all read this thread. And by all I mean customers AND Ubi employees.

It highlights Ubi telling customers pre-launch what to expect in EndWar vs post launch reality.

I guess we can now add EndWar to the "Most supported Game" after Vegas 1 & 2, Graw I & 2 + FC2.

I don't go to any other forum so I can't say anything for them but... I can sure speculate and I am sure it ain't pretty there either! Wink2

I still don't understand though, people buy a UBI game, have an atrocious time with it, comes to the forum and speaks his mind (not in a praise/good kinda way either), then, next UBI installment comes out and he is right smack in the middle of the line waiting to buy it?

1.- Stupid

2.- Masochist?

3.- Daddy's got Money

4.- Naive to believe it can't happen again

5.- All of the above!

6.- Lack of Options

I will give UBI in that they do have unique games. More so in the past than as of late, but they do tend to be "different" than the rest of the pack.

I am sure there are a few that do that but based on seeing the names and clans in the forums I don't think that many are falling for it. I think there are a lot of new people believing the UBI hype though.

My clan was into Rogue Spear and Ravenshield for years. Luckily, UBI released a demo of Lockdown and we knew not to buy that POS.

With Vegas, there were Devs like Goliath claiming that 3rd person cover view wasn't as bad as we thought it would be and that we just needed to try it. They also didn't come out and say that there wouldn't be a map editor released until long after Vegas came out. So my clan fell for that one. We even enjoyed it for a month before the maps got old and we couldn't stand the bugs, 3rd person view, and regen health any longer.

We never fell for it with Vegas2. They almost had us with the 1.03 patch release but luckily we waited for the posts about how high stakes mode didn't work after 1 round. We may not have gotten it anyway with the lack of map editor.

Ubi can probably live on forever as a mediocre publisher that uses false promises and news releases as well as favorable reviews from web sites that are in their back pocket in order to sell incomplete games to those that don't pay attention to the publisher on the box.

They also do the bait and switch by publishing other developers good games (such as IL2 and the original FarCry) and then give the sequels to their own in house programmers that can't figure out mulitplayer code and spit out an unfinished game (Can anyone say Ubi Montreal?).

My predication:

We'll have a big press release in March followed up in April by UBI giving those web sites that gave favorable reviews in the past a chance to see the games in action.

We'll get the usual "Taking the game back to it's roots" quotes from one of the UBI high ups that really just wants to produce the "24" or "CSI" TV shows instead of a game.

We'll get forums set up with scripted announcements and no important questions will be answered.

There will be no demo.

The game will be released before it is complete with the promise of patches.

Patches will come out but they will only fix obsure things we never knew were wrong.

Rinse...repeat...rinse...repeat...
