Hi. I have tried everything possible to try and get R5 Vegas to connect to the internet to play multiplayer on my new pc. I have a linksys wrt54g router, i have the ports forwarded correctly. I have tried it without the router going straight to modem and same problem occurs. I have tried every patch i can find 1.01 - 1.06 and none of them well connect to multiplayer. Since I have been trying for 2 days now im almost ready to give up, I think i've tried about everything i know to get it fixed. I almost stooped as low to pay the ridiculous telephone support charges but no.
If anyone knows a solution please hit me back, from what ive seen i may need to disable my upnp but i cant find it in my router settings, for the Linksys WRT54G if someone knows how to do this please let me know or if you may know how to fix the problem. UBI gonna be losing alot of customers if they dont get their act together supporting the people that buy their games. Your losing this customer tonight. |

Hey man,
I have the same router as you. I've been playing since it came out & I understand the problem your experiencing. Heres a few things. #1: Just in case there's something a little off on your port forwarding. Here's a great link directly to instructions for OUR router for this game (it says vegas 1 but it works just fine) http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forward...ainbow_Six_Vegas.htm #2: My second problem was my DSL router from Verizon also contained firewalls which I has to disable. #3: I'm using Vista so the Windows Defender, Windows Firewall I had to turn off in order to troubleshoot what was stopping the connection. Not to mention I had Mcafee installed also. (what a day that was) QUESTION: Can you login to your account in the game? ...but after you login you can't connect to another persons server.....i'm assuming Have you tried to host a game? Last but not least, sometimes I'll go through a whole string of connection failures. It seems like every week or two it will happen & I will power off my DSL modem, my router, & computer and the problem will stop. I'm assuming that it refreshes my IP & ports if something is getting jumbled. I hope something works for ya, I'm sure there's lots more I can think of if this doens't work. Best to do all the testing without the router first. I"m guessing it's windows firewall or your cable/dsl blocking it somehow. |
