First .. an 8400 gs is a low end card and you will never get decent gaming results without upgrading.
Vegas 2 is a poorly optimized console port and does take a lot of horse power .. especially graphics to run decent. Here is an old chart that will give you an idea of how it performs compared to other cards. http://www.tomshardware.com/ch...Duty-4-v1.6,741.html As you can see, the 8400gs is at the bottom of the performance list and this is with COD 4 .. which is a much easier game to run than Vegas 2 .. and this is only at 1280x1024 and no AA. The game runs at 14.3 fps with a 8400gs in this test. That said, there is an option to change video settings in Vegas 2. Extras Options Video Try lowering resolution, set AA to none, and play with other settings. It will likely look pretty bad if you get it to run, but at least maybe you will be able to play. |

First start to pump the UBI-support form, it will take between 2-7 automatic replays but in the end some one will help you, maybe... In the mean time until that happens you can check a few things your self: If you running XP-32 Try to lower the amount of RAM to only 2 Gigabyte as XP 32 bit version don't have enough Memory Address Range and can be problematic regarding performance with 3 Giga Ram. Running XP-64 can solve this problem without lowering the amount of RAM but make sure you got all drivers needed (i.e 64 bit versions). Go http://www.bitsum.com/prolasso.php >> Download & install it. this application is free for non commercial use and is superior to the XP task manger and can show you graphically the amount of memory & CPU cycles per thread or application so you can see what is going on. while R6V2 is running. Go to this link http://www.liutilities.com and check what are the process you are running, the site is a Library of all Microsoft windows applications & DLL's there is explanation for each process name with a clear remarks if this process is critical for stable system operation, if it not it will say that you can safely disable the process/application. Turn Voice Recognition OFF ! (in the option menu, don't confuse it with Voice Chat in the Multilayer option menu!) ----------------------------------------------- It could be helpful (for you) to state what OPS you are using, The amount of RAM still available after R6V2 is loaded. Check that there is NO hardware problem or conflicts (IRQ conflicts) & the CPU average is BELOW 80%. I hope that this will help & if not at least point you to the right direction. In case that it did help that's mean you owe me & me & Gearbolt gonna kick your *** on line very badly |

hah vertigo is got dammn right scuttering or FPS lag isnt caused by uber low system ( which isnt your case ) but becouse that process doesnt have proper priority ( mostly realtime ) or something under it is running wit hthe same priority
There is never so much low system to play. Send here also your CPU unit because unreal engine is really hungry monster when comes to RAM and CPU. You just need to set all lowest and then start moving up quality for cost ( how much ure able to play on ) of pefromance You got decent nvidia card ( if it were ATI u will have more trouble but nvidia is cool ) and a lots of RAM memory ITS NOT ABOUT WHAT SOME BENCHMARK SAYS its about your knowledge of HARDWARE and setting it properly up believe me So try to set up properly graphic card, the game and if it will still scuttering go offline stop all antiviruses and firewalls and try again. Its not like lol i got lower system iam dammned no thats not true ;d |

Maybe you should at least look at the minimum requirements for this game!
This is directly from Ubisoft: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...1064316/m/1711062046 An 8400GS isn't even a supported card, but I believe it should still run the game with low settings. And why would there be more problems with ATI cards?? I am actually an Nvidia fan, and run 4 systems with 8800GT's. One has 2 8800GT's in SLI. That said, I just purchased an XFX HD 4890 Extreme (ATI) for another system, and it performs extremely well and runs cooler than the 8800's. I can run Vegas 2 and any other game at 1920x1200 on a 28" Hanns-G with everything cranked up and it looks and runs great! I have run many ATI cards in the past without a single problem, but have used Nvidia almost exclusively for the past 2 years. And .. I have had 3 nvidia cards fail in the past 6 months. Actually, an EVGA 8800GT superclocked card failed right out of the box. Any programs running at startup can be disabled by using system configuration/startup and uncheck everything there except maybe your anti-virus. I hope you find something that works!!! |

well almost... some applications are impossible to remove with only the build-in task manger, or Process Laso or Revouninstaller (assuming we ain't talking about window 7) one of those is ctfmon.exe (this small application is runing in the background & periodically check if you use the disability function when you run Microsoft office pack. it will run regardless if you have the Microsft Office installed or NOT!) check the fallowing link to remove ctfmon.exe http://www.howtogeek.com/howto...d-why-is-it-running/ (you have info regarding this for all ops) Any way the bottom line is that if you're running slow machine you need to tune up the machine & the running application. You also need to be logical about it, if your machine behave like a turtle after a brine stroke & heart attack it will not run much faster even if you try to turbo boost it by shoving radioactive hot red chilly pepper in his "alpha alpha seira"...<!> BTW the above process will be more efective if you preform it on the salerat the sold you this machine claming it to be to ultimate gamers dream, same go's for your ISP... Anyway the specs of your machine remind me that once I had a kinky CPU that went for a fetish session in the rabish bin & never came back.. |

ATI
absolutely beautiful quality in each AA and AF, not speaking about colors crossing. High amount of ram ( clasically 2x more than most of the nevidia cards ) and big brandwidth on BUSes bad performance when there are many objects on scene, or when a lot of objects emerges on screen. Unbelieveably scrap official drivers. put it together ATI got absolutely great quality of drawing but performance and official drivers sux not mentioning that theyre using LARGE amount of RAM to balance the slow speed theyre running on, and they doesnt run well on older game engines only on the modern ones ( where sometimes is the performance and stability bigger than on nvidia ) NVIDIA bad quality but unbelievable speed and official drivers. FAST ram and GPU, low amount of RAM and slow BUS speed. Official drivers are the best tuned and difference between unofficial is really small in performance. so: if u want nice quality / worse performance ( only untill u overclock - except shaders which u mostly cant at ATI and download good unoficial drivers + properly SETUP ) aim for ATI if u want perfromance, big stability / worse quality then buy nvidia cards ( expect pay more ), if u set them properly, overclock a little you should get huge stability ( little gain of performance ) also supports many of game engines ok iam finished now u can all rip me to pieces and tear me apart COME ON ! |

BTW did anyone notice that the dood din't yet reply with what ops he run & the rest of the specs... why we put energy to this...?

8400 gs must be onboard video? You probably want a to get a new pcie videocard with at lease 512mb ram. Usually a Nvidia 9800 Series or ATI 3870 512mb. They should be under $100.00 U.S.D.

OK.
Just fallow those simple steps above, can you that ?
Rally you don't need walk-through for that just smock less dope...LoOoL |

An 8400gs is a stand alone video card, but like I mentioned in an earlier post .. it is a very weak card!!! 8400GS Video Card But .. it is PCIe, so could be easily upgraded. The problem might be that the rest of the system is also low end. A better card would definitely help though .. if the PCU can handle the power required by a high end card!! |
