First you have to figure out if the problem is on your end or the host end. Are you gettiing this message with every game you try or just some of them? If you are getting it with every game it would stand to reason the problem is on your end. Try shutting down any firewalls you have set up for starters. If that doesn't work come back and one of the smart people will help you . There are several people hosting that I can't join for one reason or another. I have talked to some of them in game (when someone else is hosting)and they say no-one can join their match. So at that point the problem is on their end. I know I don't offer much here but it is a start,and at least keeps your post active.

Make sure your Windows firewall isn't blocking your connection!
In Windows firewall .. exceptions tab .. make sure that Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 and also the update is checked.
You should also find options for PB.

Some anti virus software will also block your connection.

If you are hosting you will need to open ports if you are behind a router.
I recently posted the correct ports in some other threads.
If you can't find them, let me know.

One other thing you might try would be to bypass your router .. (if you have one), and connect directly to you cable or DSL modem.

Most all DSL modems have built in router so you could have a problem there.
Cable modems usually don't have built in routers, so be careful if you run directly through that with no router.

I know several gamers on cable that can only play by bypassing their router and haven't had a problem, but your security is reduced.

There are other things that could cause your issus, but this will give you some things to get started on.

i shuted down any firewall and antivirus i have but it wont connect still im on dsl and the net is working fine, other games connect but not the vegas games

The problem might ot be on your end.
The Ubisoft servers go down on a regular basis so you might want to check with other players before making changes to your computer.
