This is a very simple and quick demo on how to set up a T-hunt for Vegas and Vegas 2. I imagine you[Lethal1940] already now how to set up a Dedi-server for Team Death Match. You will need some cfg files for your pb folder so download them here if you are doing a Vegas2 Dedi T-Hunt server DON'T use the universal.cfg file that I have prepared for you. IT's for Vegas 1. If you need the universal cvar cfg file for Vegas 2 ,PM me and I will send it to you.
Let's get started. Open up the pbsv.cfg file in a notepad and add your IP address, pbwebtool password and port #[set it to port 3074] click file/save and put all cfg files in your PB directory that you have just downloaded. Next step, make another UBI account for your servers name. For the sake of things lets pretend its FrankJimJam. Make sure you logon to the actual game at least once with this new name because for some reason if you use it right away for your server, your server won't launch. A bug perhaps with UBI's servers, I really don't know but this step is important. Once logged on, exit the game. Now that you have a name and have logged onto the game at least once with you new name Goto your Binaries folder and edit your R6VegasServerLaunch.bat file. Right click the file and select edit. Add your new Online name and password for it. Save and exit the .bat file. If you are doing this For Vegas 1 make sure before you exit, change Intitial map to INITIAL_MAP=MP_Mexico_01. For some reason Streets is set for the initial map by default and it is not according to your R6ServerConfig.ini file for Vegas 1. Now we are set. Double click the R6VegasServerLaunch.bat file in your binaries folder. This takes some time but after it is done, open up a browser [I prefer firefox] and type, http://[MyIpAddress]:3074 and press enter. YOur PBWebTool should open. Type in your password that you put in your pbsv.cfg file and press "Command Screen" you should be logged onto your Webtool. Next, the parameters for your T-hunt server. In the PBWebtool console type: admin.roundcount 1 [press "to console"] admin.roundduration 10 [press "to console"] admin.gamemode 8 [press "to console"]This is for Vegas 1, might be a different # for Vegas 2 admin.maxplayers 4 [press "to console"] admin.push [press 2 times "to console"] Your server should be up and running. This should only take about 5 minutes or less to set up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Other archives I have: PB command's admin.help -> Get a list of valid options admin.push -> apply all admin options to current game immediately admin.GameMode [mode name or number]; Valid Modes: ATTACK & DEFEND / 1, SURVIVAL / 2, SHARPSHOOTER / 3, TEAM SURVIVAL / 4, TEAM SHARPSHOOTER / 5, RETRIEVAL / 6, COOP STORY / 7, COOP TERRORIST HUNT / 8, CONQUEST / 9, ASSASSINATION / 10; admin.Map see a list of all current maps (available and in rotation) admin.Map add [mapname]: add map to rotation using the name that appears in the game menus admin.Map remove [mapname]: remove map rotation using the name that appears in the game menus admin.Map set [mapname]: set current map using the name that appears in the game menus, map must be in rotation already admin.RoundDuration [number between 3 and 20 in minutes] admin.RoundCount [number between 1 and 20] admin.TimeBetweenRounds [number between 0 and 60] admin.BriefingTimer [number between 5 and 60] admin.Respawns [number between 0 and 10] admin.TeamRespawn [number between 0 and 1] admin.FriendlyFire [number between 0 and 1] admin.AutoKickTeamKillers [number between 0 and 10] admin.PunishTeamKillers [number between 0 and 1] admin.MaxPlayers [number between 2 and 16] admin.LockTeams [number between 0 and 1] admin.GamePointLimit [number between 0 and 50] admin.AllowJoinInProgress [number between 0 and 1] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapon ID#'s If you want a weapon/s restricted you have to edit R6VegasGame.ini and R6VegasServerConfig.ini files before you launch your server. If you only edit the R6VegasServerConfig.ini and launch the server, the following map in rotation will drop the restrictions, so it is import to add the values to both ini files. A bug perhaps? I don't know but it works. For Vegas 1 GADGETS shield = 1795 gas mask = 1796 radar jammer = 1794 motion sensor = 1793 GPS = 1792 EXPLOSIVES tear gas = 1542 incendiary = 1541 smoke = 1540 breaching charge =1539 c4 = 1538 flashbangs = 1537 frag grenades = 1536 SNIPER RIFLES m40a1 = 1280 sv-98 = 1281 psg1 = 1282 scout tactical = 1283 LIGHT MACHINE GUNS mk46 = 1024 21e = 1025 mg36 = 1026 m249 spw = 1027 SHOTGUNS m3 = 768 spas 12 = 769 870mcs = 770 xm-26lss = 771 ASSAULT RIFLES 552 commando = 512 ak47 = 513 aug a3 = 514 famas = 515 g36c = 516 g3ka4 = 517 m8 = 518 mtar21 = 519 scar-h c&c = 520 SUBMACHINE GUNS mp5n = 256 mp7a1 = 257 ump45 = 258 p90 = 259 mp9 = 260 mac11 = 261 PISTOLS usp40 = 1 glock 18 = 2 92fs = 3 raging bull = 4 desert eagle = 5 Since Vegas 2 was really a expansion pack, I do believe all of these Values for Vegas 1 should work for Vegas 2. You will have to find out the new weapons they have added to Vegas 2. |

Thanks Soultear .. I really appreciate the time it took to set all of this up.
Have you ever tested this for Vegas 2 T-Hunt? The biggest problem now is that everyone I used to play V2 with has moved on to other games long ago. Maybe with a T-Hunt SADS, I can persuade them to try it again! |

This is an interesting thread...! It's amazing how much manual editing of files it's needed to do something as simple as to get a server running. There should be a better way. Anyway, I'll try to get a dedicated t-hunt server up and running this weekend. Wish me luck! |

does not work with vegas 2, how could it? the server ini files would also need changing too and without the correct values entered it will always be a deathmatch game (versus)

It works for part 1. Saw a dedicated server for T hunt shows 0/5 players for T-Hunt. Don't know if the 5 person is playable or just for viewing? But it did show 0/5 Dedicated T Hunt. As far as vegas 2? 1.03 Patch is broken.

As i have both games installed on my pc, i know it should work in vegas,as within the dedicated server bat, server options ect, it is already set up for terror hunt to run as a dedicated server, but as for vegas 2 the files are different, (i did edit them so they were similar to vegas)but although i was able to select upto 14players when hosting t'hunt and players could see whatever number i had selected in the lobby no more than 4 could join the game, the dedicated server would display versus modes only, and no one was able to join, inc myself, all got an error that we needed to download somthing as we did not have it,(from ubi), as if we never had the map (same message)that was as far as i got,(btw i don't use punkbuster)

im trying to get this to work on my Co-Op Story server but its not working.
it loads fine on the laptop but it starts off in team sharpshooter. ive changed the values to show story in the .bat and config files. im not sure why it still loading in team sharpshooter. also when i go to http;//myip#:3074 the page can not be found. also i notice in the cmd box (server) it says universial.cfg not found when i try to join it the game started to connect. i see the connection start on the server but when it loads it takes be back to the begining loading screen for R6V (press any key to start) i can start a server through the game and join it fine though. but my problem is it is unstable on the laptop. i was hoping to use this instead. if needed i can upload my config files for a closer look. incase i missed something. funny thing i tried it on the desktop. same settings (ip was the same) and the server would crash when it started to load the server. both computers are running vista ultimate 64bit. Yes it will, simply launch the server in versus mode, bring up your pb webtool and, and type: admin.gamemode 8 admin.push that should do it. need to change the map type: admin.map (brings up the map list) admin.map set [name of map] admin.push make sure you have the spaces in the right places. With any setting you want changed, you have to use the [admin.push] for the setting to take place. |
