I'm changing some of the values in the config file in LV2's directory. I can't find any values representing a weapon's ability to pierce armor.
I've also been unable to find a config file dedicated to different armor types and their characteristics. What I'd like to do is make some calibers more likely to penetrate armor than others (i.e. real life). Is there a value someone knows of that I can edit? And again, this is Las Vegas 2, not 1. |

The values are in the weapons .ini files.
Just remember to change them back before you go online otherwise Punkbuster supported servers will kick you. ------------------------------ http://www.squadgames.com Home of the PC Rainbow Six prize Tournaments. Vegas 2 tournament TBA. |

Thanks for the reply.
I'm actually looking for armor specific values. I've already changed damage values. Could you possibly point me toward any armor modifiers that may exist? |

Ok, well...
Anyone know the values for weapon switch speed? |

To the original poster.
Body Armor works by reducing the damage when a hit occurs. If you want to tweak weapons to give the appearance of overcoming body armor then you just increase the damage value. In R6V2 there are 2 values for each weapon dealing with the penetration effectiveness of the weapon but this is for dealing with cover, for example penetrating crates, furniture, walls, doors, fences, trees, windows, etc. |

Yeah, I figured.
Here's what I wanted to do. A .45ACP (Mk23) at close range is normally a one shot kill. But if fired into body armor, it will probably not penetrate. A 5.56 (M8, G36C, 552 Commando, etc), fired at an unarmored target, will not kill instantly unless it destroys the heart or central nervous system. But it punches through armor. So I wanted to change their armor piercing properties versus their lethality. I've already changed damage values. So. Is there a way to get stuff like tear gas into SP? |

The weapons modelling in R6V series is not very realistic or accurate. The damage of each weapon should be a funtion of the bullet's remaining energy. Pistols and submachine guns are way overpowered relative to the rifles and machine guns. Same goes for short barreled rifles in the game like the g36 and sig 552.

Well, I managed to make it a LITTLE more accurate. I revised damages, because I was sick of shooting a guy four or five times before he goes down.
I also changed magazine capacities, weapon weights, reload speeds, penetration, suppressor modifiers, and attachments, all to better reflect real world weapons/ballistics. I'd make my changes available, but only if I can figure out how to get multiplayer gadgets like tear gas into single player. |
