Other than the circa 2005 map graphics, this is the only other thing that's keeping Vegas2 from being (imho) the perfect tactical shooter: and that is...what's with the tango's being drawn to your player when you're standing still?
It's like your insertion point is right in front of a security camera and you get 15 tangos running around the corner yelling obscenities. I like to go stealthy and suppressed while picking off bad guys one at a time - but it's like I have a car alarm going off in my pocket. Is there not a way to adjust enemy ai to make them less aware? Or are there any mods for a more realistic enemy ai? I know it would be easy to say 'you suck newb' or 'play online' - but I'm just asking for any help... thanks in advance _____________________________ "Nietzsche is dead." - God. |

Welcome to the wonderful world of Ubisoft!
Before Ubisoft "fixed" the Ai, they would spawn from thin air. Clear a room or area, move into it, and they would spawn behind or anywhere around you. I guess this is Ubisoft's way of correcting that issue!! It seems someone did alter some files to have all Ai already spawned when you entered the game, but I don't believe it worked very well. Seems there was a thread long ago. Maybe you can do a search! |

Well, after reading your comment and doing my own research... I've come to the conclusion that I wasted $20. The sad part is that there's so much worth keeping in R6V2 - if you could just insert the tango AI effects of Ravenshield into Vegas2 (and polish up the graphics just a tad) people would be luvin' this game for years to come.
oh well... _____________________________ "Nietzsche is dead." - God. |

I recently discovered a copy of Ravenshield I got a few years back with a graphics card or something I purchased.
Then I found that some of our group also had this game, so we all installed and have played it a few times. Even though this is an old game, the netcode is years ahead of Vegas 2. The graphics are a little dated, but we found it fun to play, and much more enjoyable without the lag of V2. And you can co-op up to 8 players in T-Hunt, Mission, or Hostage Rescue! It also has map rotation and other options missing in V2! Add team Ai if you like, but we find it better without them! Bring back Red Storm to develop another RB6 game!! And while they are at it, find another publisher also!! |
