Another newbie question here. How do you go about getting a voice connection with Vegas 2 PC?
I used to play Raven Shield and was connected through teamspeak for voice comm but am not sure about how to get audio connected to Vegas 2. Added note: If you're using voice comm will it slow your online game down?? |

No, using 3rd party voice comm applications (TeamSpeak/Ventrillo/etc.) will not affect your Vegas 2 performace.

You can dowload and use Teamspeak for free if someone you are playing with has a TS server.
I rent a 10 slot server for $31.20 a year. It works great and there is no problem with talking while gaming. http://www.instantteamspeak.com/ |

Or you can use the server browser and find a good, empty one. There are sooooooo, so, so many. |

I hope I am not banned for a stupid question. I often wondered how clans play against each other. Are they playing on outside servers such as Teamspeak? I have been asked a couple of times to join a clan (they must have never seen me play vesus). I don't have any interest in it,but I would like to know how they can join up a whole clan at once. Thanks.

TeamSpeak is for voice communication only. Most clans or people that just play with a friend use some type of voice comms (like myself) to communicate with each other easier in games, instead of typing. So it doesn't have anything to do with clans, really. Clans play each other in "matches" by signing up on ladder sites and scheduling matches with other clans. The stats are recorded and clans are ranked. Hope that helps a little. P.S. don't be worried about asking stupid questions, its not stupid. |

Pack.Leader.X, Thanks for taking the time to answear my question concerning clan play. I was always curious about how you could sign up a whole clan at one time. Good gaming to all,and may all your kills be clean.

That's why I password my TS server. I can also put teams in separate channels while playing. |

Thanks for the responses. As I suspected the teamspeak set up remains the same as when I was using it years ago. That leads me to the next question, What form of voice comm are the guys using when you hear them during the game?
|
||||
|
When you hear people speaking in the game itself, it is the in-game game chat. Which can be set up in the options.

how come everyone else can hear me in my game? but i cant hear anyone else.
when using the in-game chat app. |

Go to options > multiplayer and make sure incoming voice is enabled. If it is, it might not be your problem, but theirs. Most people I see in game don't have their voice working, even though it shows them talking. |

I was able to get that set up. Thanks. Like Littlesir I can't hear myself and end up comm checking with others in the game. One problem that presented itself was the head set mic not being recognized as default, and that was an easy fix. |

i use teamspeak instead of the low quality in gamre voice option i also have the ts server s/w on my box too so i can host both game and t/s if needed

I ended up getting the "in game" voice enabled but don't use it often and I wish some of the jack jaws out there didn't either. It's annoying to listen to someone babble non stop, in any language while their mic is picking up everything in the room. Like the game volume cranked up, and the wife and kids yammering away. Glad there's a mute option. |
