Me and my friend was going to play some coop, but we can't.
It says "Can't initialize network service", so we can't play. What's the problem?

By the way, we're in different cities so it's not our connections that are the problem.

Servers are down again. I am getting the same message when I try to log on.

Yep my dedicated servers are kicking the error message as well.

On another note: Steam based servers need to have been going down and back up today as well.

Someone needs to start one big thread where everyone posts each time the server does down, and for how long ... Like we did in Vegas 1.

It actually grew quite long, very fast!!

Something like 2 years and Ubisoft still can't fix a simple server problem!!!

i doubt that they give a dam,if the server is up or down,probably inserting more ads again,or could be another a.i.update

I'm going to break from the usual Anti-UBIsoft rantings for a moment and pose a question as to why this error occured recently...

Could they FIXING THE LOBBY SERVERS!?

I noticed that the Lobby Servers haven't been going down like usual.

The error message is new (at least to me). I have never seen that message before from what I can remember. Could this message be a result of UBI taking out the servers temporarily in an attempt to fix them?

Could this be possible? The Ubi Lobby is actually getting fixed?

there to my knowledge are 2 error messages that relate to the server being offline,"failed to initialize network service" and the "operation was canceled as it too much time"or similar wording,yes it's possible ubi are fixing the Vegas part of the server,but doubtful,

it seems there is a NEW patch...

The "OPERATION WAS CANCELED Blah blah" was the only message I ever observed in my time of running servers since launch.

This other message is new to me at least.

The 1.04 patch was an April's fool joke from another player mako.

I and others have received both the failed to initialize and operation was canceled on both Vegas 1 and 2, when the server was down!

If Ubisoft is fixing the servers .. they have been doing it for 2 years!!

Poor poor Ubisoft, still trying to fix the servers since 2006, huh?

You will see a post for Jan. 2008, where I posted a link to a Server Problem Thread from Feb. 2007.

The Feb. thread was a big thread with problems on Ubisoft's server.
That thread has been removed and you will now get an error when you click on that link.

Ninjaboy .. if you check the second page of that thread, you will see where I posted concerning the "The operation was cancelled because it took too much time, please try again later." message that there was some question on earlier in this thread!

You will also see some Ubisoft responses there!

And the problem still exists today??!!

Just tried to log onto Vegas 2 for some Terrorist Hunt(3:30 Eastern Time U.S.A.). The lowest(and only one listed) ping I found was 1996. I played earlier today at 336 ping and could throw a bullet faster than mine traveled.You should be proud of yourselves UBI.
