Alright, lowering the resolution worked perfectly, thanks. Now I am just going to play with it and see how good I can get it to look
 I guess I can get 1.03 now... unless there is another reason not to? And I am still having some trouble (having to toggle VR on and off every time) with the voice recog command giving my team orders. Anyone got any ideas on that one? Thanks! |

Glad you got it to work!
You will need 1.03 if you are going to play online and also the Fun Pack map pack and Comcast Event map. There are links in the Sticky threads on this forum. I thought you had already tried lower resolutions and other settings! Those would be the first fixes with a low end card! |

Alright, I will download that stuff.
I had tried lower settings and resolutions, but hadn't lowered the res down lower than the default, which was a lot higher than the one I am running now. Also, I wasn't aware that this card was as "low end" as you said :P I am just glad it works now though, that's what is important. |

Nvidia's numbering system is very deceiving.
If you check the charts above, I believe you will find that most 7800 and 7900 cards out perform the 8400. There are also many new 9000 series cards that are poor performers, but not listed on the charts. But then with PCI, you don't have a lot of choices. Glad you are at least able to play!!  |

I may be of a little help here.I did a little research when I upgraded my vidio card. It is like Lethal stated some of the 9ooo seies cards don't perform as well as the 8800 GT that I am now running. The saleman told me the important number is the secound one. The higher that number the better the card will perform.
And congrats on getting the game to play. Sounds like it took a lot of effort. I hope you will find all your trouble worthwile. If you are not part of the solution,you are part of the problem. |

Yep .. the 8800GT is a very good card, but getting hard to find.
The 9800GT is basically a re-numbered 8800GT. I am running 5 - 8800GT's .. (2 in SLI), and 2 - 8800GTS's (SLI) in 5 systems and all work very well. The only problems I have encountered are heat related. I have to run Riva Tuner on 3 systems to increase fan speed. I had one system hitting 91c under load but the fan was only running at 30%. Increasing the fan speed dropped it to mid 60's! This was a factory overclocked card! So if you have heat related problems, give this free program a try. Cheaper than buying a third party cooler!!! |

Just hit the "u" key to open the chat box. I believe you can use the "y" key also,but not sure because I never use it.
