Am I doing something wrong? I used to be able to play online. Then i got some new games...moved on...and when i come back to Vegas 2, i can't log in. So everything was working...and now it's not. Hm. I saw another forum that said maybe the servers are down? I just wanna play with my buddies online. ...any hope?

There are many reasons that can cause you to fail to log on. The post about the servers being down is by far the main reason. I am not trying to talk down but are you sure you have your user name and password correct? That question is not as dumb as it sounds, People get to playing several games and make little tweaks in their user name all the time(I always write mine on the box the first time I log on as a little added precaution).
Are you getting any kind of error message when you fail to log on? This may help someone in determining your problem. I know I have offered very little here, but at least it keeps your post up towards the top. Good luck. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. |

thanks for what you've offered. I totally understand the whole username/password bit. I feel it's a little aggrivating from time to time...but whatever PC gamers gotta do to win over piracy...right? anyhow.
I try entering my password (i'm sure i've entered it correctly) and it tries to log in. It just sits there and finally comes up with something like "you've failed to log in because it took too much time" or something like that. Then when i try again, it says "operation failed". any takers? |

do you use a router? if so you might need to froward the ports to log in.. i know I ahd the same kind of issue when i first got goign with the game.

You should only have to forward ports if you are hosting, not to login and play.
If you were able to play in the past, then try to think of what has changed since you were last able to login. The servers are down a lot, but usually not more than a few hours at a time. Check that your connnection isn't being blocked by your firewall, antivirus, or some other program. Check the exceptions tab in windows firewall, security center. Make sure Vegas 2 is there and checked. Good luck! |

Thanks guys. I'm in the middle of a re-format on my computer...it totally crashed. Anyhow...with a new vista installation, and the retail version of the game (no patches) i was able to log in. This tells me that it may have easily been something on my end. I'll get it patched to 1.3 this afternoon and try again. I paid special attention to getting all the exceptions put in place for the game...however, our internet filter (NetNanny) did not like the R6V2 exception...
We did disable the filter temporarily to see if it was blocking, but I still couldn't log in. Maybe that was the problem though. I'll post again later. |

Glad you got it working.
You should have better results if you download the 1.03 patch rather than let the auto updater do it. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...1021386/m/7621035076 You can also get the map pack at the above link. Don't forget the Comcast Event map also. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...1021386/m/9951049186 |
