Hi.
Im running this game in minimum requirements, and it seems to be laggy even tho i have a good ping. Especially in villa. It lags. I move pretty slow. And I was wondering am I the only who runs the game in minimum requirements? and thats why i suck in versus mode? Because there are so many people can kill me very easily and I have trouble aiming cause the stupid lag with good ping. So anyone else run in minimum requirements? and can someone give me some tips to play good even with minimum requirements? |

I didn't vote because your post is a little confusing. I don't know if anyone can define maximum requirements. I have never heard of a system process so fast it over plays the game. I assume when you say minimum requirements you are running one gig of ram. Some people can run the game with one gig and some can't. So may I suggest adding another gig of ram and see what happens. There are just so many things that can cause your problem (weak vidio card among others)that I won't even go there.
Please list your computer stats and maybe someone can offer you more imfo. Also you didn't state what good ping is. If I can hook up with someone with a ping of around 100 the game plays very nicely. The only problem this day and age is finding someone left playing that I can hook up with that ping. I know I haven't offered much help here but at least it is a start. If you furnish more imfo. you may find the help you need. At least you came to the right spot for help. Tech. support for Vegas is a thing of the past. So good luck to you. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. |

There was a time when Ubisoft furnished tech. support?? Somehow I missed that brief moment!! |

Well there may be your problem. Very few people can get Vegas to play on a laptop. If you check the packaging it will tell you your vidio card may work but is not supported. Sorry to break it to you but you may just have one big problem. Maybe someone that has gotten Vegas to work on a laptop can provide you with more imformation. Good luck. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. |

Memory can be upgraded in a laptop, but there are usually only 2 dimm slots, so to upgrade, you would have to replace what is there.
2 GB should be sufficient. Unfortunately, Vista is a memory hog. Laptop hard drives are anormally user replaceable Some gaming laptops are also user upgradable for video cards, but yours isn't, and and 8400 series card is light even in a desktop. Your CPU is marginal but should work. The only thing that may help would be to disable all startup programs in system configuration .. startup tab. Most computers both laptops and desktops come with a ton trial software installed, and many programs running in the background. If you close down all programs running in the backgound, you should see some improvement. You can also try this free little program to clean up a lot of junk from your computer and gain a lot of space. http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ You can also use it to clean your registry, but I would recommend exporting your registry first just in case of a problem. This program will give an option to do that if you run the registry tool. Good luck.. the best solution is a new desktop and a different game!! |

Vegas 1 runs decent on my laptop, but I'm running a quad core with 6gb ddr3 and a 4870x2 in crossfire.
My only suggestion is make sure you are running it at the lowest resolution with all settings set to low. If you still get lag it's time to upgrade or move on to a more optimized game. Vegas was made using a beta version of the Unreal engine and was never properly tested. |

Nice laptop!! But you could probably build 3 or 4 desktops for what it cost!! But then it is pretty difficult to haul around a desktop with that configuration! Do you have heat problems or is it well cooled? It has to generate some pretty substantial heat! I know someone who had a Sager that was pretty well configured, although not nearly as strong as yours, and after 3 heat related failures, plus the cost of shipping and time waiting .. he finally gave up and sold it for $300. |

I bought a nice laptop cooler and have zero heat issues. My GPU temps never break 70c and the quad core (OC'd to 2.8Ghz) also stays below 60c on max load.
I already have a nice desktop system (i7 920, GTX280s in SLI, 42" LCD) but needed something for work. If you're wondering what I paid for the laptop: $2199.00. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...Item=N82E16834220527 |

That is a great price for your laptop!
I buy components from Newegg for new system builds and also for rebuilds and repairs! With your laptop configuration, I was thinking more of Alienware that would have been way more than you paid for this configuration. Sager and others would have been way up there too. Nice desktop also!!! |

HOOOORAAAA RLCSeMPeRFi,
I am very sorry but I am going to have to report you to NASA as I am sure those computers were stolen from them. You have enough power to run the space shuttle with those two computers by themselves. I like my friend Lethal thought your laptop came from one of the top end companies. I went to Newegg and there it was for the price you stated. Very good buy for all that power. Then to top it off with your desktop unit I believe I have become very jelous. So if you tire of either one PM me and I will take them off your hands. But we have strayed from the original topic here. Wkdzzo is running a unit with maybe one quarter the power of yours so keep in mind you can do much more that he can(I am sure I don't have to tell you that). From what I have read here in the past wkdzzo just doesn't have enough to run Vegas. You find people running desktops that meet the minimum requirements on the box and are frustated by the poor performace trying to play Vegas2. Setting minimum requirements so low is just another ploy by UBI to sell games. When in reality people have a very hard time getting the game to run at all. I feel sorry for these people that were hoping to play the game at the bottom of the requirement list. So those of you that can play there congrats.,those of you that can't sorry. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. |
