Instead of disabling the card, try removing the sli bridge. If that doesn't work try disabling SLI, but not the card itself. You could also try pulling out one card at a time and running just one to see if either of your cards are faulty...

I did disable SLI for Vegas 2 using the nvidia control panel > 3d app settings

I chose single gpu and that didn't fix anything... the game was WAY FASTER however....

This game just does not seem to work well with SLI....

Did anybody install the latest Nvidia video driver and check if the flickering still exists?

I just recently posted a quick fix on the nzone forums. It was not fixed with the latest drivers, but you can give it a shot.

R6V2 flickering Texture Fix

Please let me know if this works for you as well. I just tried some different settings and found that the Occlusion is the problem.

To sum it up on this board too:

quote:
You can find the following file to edit in:
X:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2\KellerGame\Config

The file you will need to edit is the following:
PCKellerEngine.ini

Then you will have to edit the following line within the config file (12th section down):

[D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]
(...)
DisableOcclusion=True <------ By default this is set to False

Occlusion culling seems to remove load from the graphics card (and eventually physics processing of CPU) big time, if properly implemented.

Chances are though, that this isn't properly implemented anyway, because of the well-known "poor console port" issue and thus it doesn't make a difference if it is disabled or not.

Read up about Occlusion Culling:

Not sure what you meant, but I could be misinterpreting your post. Sorry if I am....

But for some reason in this instance it does get rid of the texture flickering that has been mysteriously created.

Occlusion also deals with rendering of an objects shaders as well which could also create this texturing problem.

When I disabled it, textures do not flicker

When enabled, textures begin to flicker again.

Now I can play the game after changing this line and not be irritated. I am happy as hell now I can finally play the game I paid for again Smile

I think he meant "no difference" in terms of performance. Do you share his opinion in this regard?

Ah ok, I was like I did notice the textures stopped flickering for me with occlusion disabled with no performance loss. Smile

That is what he could have meant by that statement. I thought you made that post yourself, and became confused. I understand now, that you were posting a statement made by someone else..Sorry Smile
