Ok, so I recently bought the game, can't complain about it as much as others. Installed fine, runs great (though I have a good system) and plays good. My problem is though, the sound of the flashbang, as beyond horrifying. First off, I hear it even when I don't get visually affected. I had to stop playing after about 15 mins and haven't played since because it 1. Happens too often and ruins the sound of the game. (Important to me anyway.) 2. The consistency of the high pitch noise triggers my already constant migraines, forcing me to not play. Is there anyway I can disable the flashbang from the game? Or remove the sound or something to that effect? I can't play this way at all.
O.T. W/o sidetracking the post, was the First one the same way? Is it worth snagging? |

XCobra101,
Are you playing single player, or playing on line? If playing single player you can go to my character > outfitting > equipment. Highlite the flashbang to something else and change it. If you are refering to the ones the Tangos are throwing you maybe able to google a cure. There are just some things that can't be discussed in here and file alteration is one of them. If you are playing on-line you will be at the mercy of your host. The only sollution will be to host yourself or get some friends together and just don't use the flashbangs. This is not much help I know but you don't have a run-of-the-mill problem. Good luck. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. |

I get what you mean, I play the single player and it happens way to often, the terrorists just keeps on throwing flashbangs. Although not getting visually affected thing is not a glitch or anything, it's because you're not looking directly at the flashbang when it goes off.
Anyways, I tried to change the sound of the flashbang by going into the \Sounds folder in the game directory. My plan was to replace the flashbang sound with a grenade sound by deleting the flashbang sound file and copying+renaming the grenade sound file. Big problem was: All the .sb0 sound files are named randomly, I don't know which is which. If anyone knows which .sb0 file is the flashbang sound, please tell me. I can't stand the migraines. |

@Pekcun Ya I know it's not a bug, it's only cus I looked away. Wish it wouldn't ring though. Wish I knew which sound files were which too. I'd remove everything but the gun shots, I could live with that. lol
@StrykerN Hey, thanks for your reply. Ever since I've looked on google. I'm officially giving up. I e-mailed UBI about it and they told me they can't give out that info but; "you could access the community forums and attempt to gain assistance from other players." So I figured this was my best bet. Still can't play, I've un-installed the game and haven't played so much as an hour in. If someone can help me just remove the noise or something similar, I'd appreciate it...otherwise this is it for me. Thanks again. |

XCobra,
Sorry you wasted your time contacting UBI. Was the responce in the form of a cut and paste message? That is usally the only reply you get from UBI concerning game problems. I hope the higher-ups don't find out who sent you a message to go to the forums for help. Any help that could be offered would be in the nature of file manipulation. The last I knew anyone even attempting to discuss fire alteration got themselves a perma ban. Maybe seems UBI is to lazy to address problems they are not willing to look the other way if someone wants to step across the boundries. BTW in which forums are the techs spending their time? I can't seen to find them. Did happen to see in single player a big new poster for the movie "9". As I recall from previews the movie takes place after the human race is distroyed. I hope we all don't have to die,"Just you UBI". Best wishes to all and Merry Christmas. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. |
