Are you using the same system or made hardware changes?
Virtual drives can create problems, and many SATA DVD drives won't read the disc because of Ubisoft's protection schemes!!

Also, does Windows recognize other CD/DVDs?

So did you try exploring the disc and launching the game manually?

There is a no DVD fix that Ubisoft posted on their site some time ago, but then removed.
If you do a search, you should be able to find it.
This is a known problem because of the DVD protection scheme Ubisoft uses. If you have a legal copy, then you should be able to do whatever is necessary to play it.
You will get NO help from Ubisoft!!!

Then you won't be able to play online on PunkBuster enabled servers. (with a no DVD crack)

firstly the no cd/dvd fix is known to pb,there is a fix for this by editing the pbsv config, so it does not kick the player,i recently had a similar problem, until other discs would not read too, so a strip down of the dvd writer/reader and a cleaning all works fine, dust was the cause for myself
