I bought an wireless adapter for my PC and a wireless 360 controller to play with R6 Vegas 2, and the controller installed correctly and works with all other games, but when I go into the options for vegas 2 and try to turn of the 'use 360 controller' option, it will not switch to on.
So far Ubisoft support has been totally useless HELP |

It appears as though this is one of the carryover screwups from ver. 1. You can't use a wireless XBox 360 controller on a PC. You have to use a wired XBox 360 Controller. I've been there, done that with Ver 1 when I was still playing on a PC instead of an XBox 360, so I know that a wreless conroller did NOT work in Ver 1. |

I have the wireless gaming receiver by microsoft hooked up to my PC though.
The wireless controller works for all other games i have, other than R6V 2 |

I have the same problem as jg_guy, i bought yesterday a wireless gaming receiver by microsoft. All games that can play with the wireless xbox 360 controller are working great, also the vibration is working with the other games. Now when i try to use the controller in Rainbow six vegas 2 my game doesnt reconize it at all. It wont switch on.

quick question
r u running vista or xp? it might only b a problem with vista (im running 64-bit home premium) and id go to their support page and submit a question to them on this. They prolly wont help us, but the more people they hear complain about this the more likely they are to really fix it |
||||
|
I am running Vista (64-bit), but i don't think that is a problem. Because the game runs fine and has vista support. Also the wireless controller is working great on vista. It's a problem by ubisoft.

I GOT ITT!!!!
Alright, so: Each game controller or game pad produced has its own "product ID" or 'PID' The problem is that the controller game is looking for has the wrong PID. You need to go into the file and change it. This may seem daunting, but it is really very easy. Go into your program files, then ubisoft, then into "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2" One of the folders inside it is "KellerGame" open it. Inside that go into the "Config" folder, and then open the file "PCKellerJoysticks" (u can just double click on it and it will open in notepad as a text file) The top few lines will read: [Joystick0] ProductName=XBox Controller HID Minidriver, XID VendorID=***some number (a)** ProductID=***some number (b)** Joy1=XboxTypeS_A Joy2=XboxTypeS_B Joy3=XboxTypeS_X Joy4=XboxTypeS_Y you have to change (a) to 1118. Now, you need to find out what your Product ID is. Before that though, two very likely IDs are :673, and 1817, so try each of those first. (to check them, change the number, save the file, and then run the game and try to turn on the "use 360 controller" option in the game. |

If neither of those work, you will have to find out what ur PID is manually.
Go to Device manager and under "Human Interface Devices" there will be your game controller. (if they also appear under "universal serial bus controllers") right click on your controller and chose "properties" In the window that appears select the details tab. Go to tje drop-down menu and choose "Hardware Ids" In the "values" box you will see something that looks like this: HID\VID_045E&PID_0719&IG_00 HID_DEVICE_SYSTEM_GAME HID_DEVICE_UP:0001_U:0005 HID_DEVICE Those are the ID's of your controller. (Do not worry if your values are slightly different.) What we will focus on is the first line at the top (HID\VID_045E&PID_0719&IG_00) Let me translate: Human Interface Device (HID)\Vendor ID(VID) 045E (the number 1118 in hexadecimal) & Product ID (PID)**YOUR PORDUCT ID** and then the rest doesnt matter. What you are looking for is the PID. (mine is 0719) BUT WAIT! That number is in hexadeximal digits. Google "hexadecimal converter" or something along the line of that, and convert what your PID is into deciaml digits. TA DA! You now have your prodcut ID so that you can go into the PCKellerJoysticks file and change (b) to your PID |
