I just installed Vegas, I fully patched it and attempted to run it, the Requirements Tool says I meet the minimum reqs: Woohoo.
However, when I tried to run it... I got the little spinning CD loading cursor and then nothing happened, nothing, nothing at all... just staring at my desktop.
How did you patch the game? If you used the auto updater it will have patched you directly to v1.06, which many people have problems with.
Uninstall, then re-install the game, but do NOT let it update with the patcher. Instead go to USEFUL LINKS THREAD and follow the instructions under VEGAS UPDATES
Yeh, but lets have a closer look at your system first. Your computer won't be the problem, but it may help if I have a little extra info...
Post your DxDiag. (Assuming you're on XP) Click start, then run. Type "dxdiag" (without quotes) and hit return. Click "save all info" and save the resulting text file to your desktop or wherever. Open the file, then copy and paste the text.
At the minute I'm guessing the problem is being caused by the useless copy protection ubi use...
Funkmunky80, I'm patching in increments all the way from 1.01 to 1.06, and I'll let you know what happens. I was having the same problem and be sure to tell you what happens.
EDIT: Still nothing. I did exactly what I described above and the game still isn't loading, what the hell??!
Oh, and I should mention; about that registry clean up tactic. I use CCleaner and it took care of w/e was still in the registry after uninstall, b/c I went into HK LOCAL MACHINE, SOFTWARE, UBISOFT, and there was nothing for Vegas.
